I've always loved cereal commercials in the 80's and most of them always involved the main character of the cereal trying to explain to a fictional character (usually a bad guy) how great the cereal is, or they would try to stop them from stealing the cereal. lol

The girl in the Simon commercial is Jessica Prunell who played Stacey on The Baby-Sitters Club TV Show. One of the girls in the Beach Splash Barbie is Venus Demilo who later played Telly on Salute Your Shorts.

Oatmeal Swirlers: successful initially because they tricked kids into thinking oatmeal was delicious. Or at least fun enough to ignore how boring it tastes. As soon as kids realized they were had, sales canned.

Honest to God, I owned almost EVERY toy, advertised in this commercial, when I was a kid. Except for the Barbies and those electronic cars . Had a Game-Boy, a Hobnobbin, that My Little Pony carousel, Simon, Battleship, and the Operation game, which my mom bought, a couple years back, for MY kids, at Christmas. I felt SO nostalgic, I walked around my parents' house, singing the Operation jingle. Def got a good laugh out of my mom....lol
