I remember when this song came out in 67 , I was madly in love with a girl I still know her name and just found her back on facebook today what a amasing thing the computer is and what a great song this was still gives me goose bumps , thanks guys
@Thommohank wow...and does she still live up to expectations all that? i too remember when this song came out....listened to it on radio london and radio caroline. gr8 number.
Little Steven told the story on his radio show how The Troggs were broke and couldn't afford studio time. Their manager at the time had a big band of some note in England, and let the boys use the spare 15 minutes from his own studio session. In that 15 minutes they set up their equipment and recorded two versions each of "Wild Thing" and "With a Girl Like You". They must work well under pressure...they nailed it!!!!
Reg is so charismatic is his own natural , unassuming way , the bassline is heavy , the guitars deliciously droney and the lyrics romantic and sensitive .... what more could one want from a pop song ?
Rembering listening for the 1st time on Solid Gold saturday with Dick Bartley,in the 80's,Hey Mr. Reg and the rest ,Thanx for makin a poor boy dream of something better!

This was one of the first song I learned on my guitar. It took me back many years. Thanks for posting this Video. I think it was the flip side to wild thing
the flip side to With A Girl Like You (in the US) was "I Want You". The flip side to "Wild Thing" was "From Home" (both on the powder blue) Fontana label
"To you, across the floor, my love I'll send." Imaginative sentence structure.

@ jeffmcw2 looks like a Sennheiser 521. For vocals or miking cabinets. Very versatile mic that looks like an electric shaver now that you mention it.

Wow, I like the head moves and face expresses of Reg.
Reg Presley and Troggs had quite good chances to become really huge in 60s but in crucial point in 1968 they lost the point somehow.
