  • dragon eyes is another fruit in China....

  • I love Dragon balls!!!

  • no it is said like the little blood suckers

  • Believe victorinox can opener use forward Wenger use backward

  • My can opener is a different, the cutting piece is a lot higher up :S theres too much space to get any strong leverage

  • fucking open it already im fucking hungry!!!!

  • lmfao . ;D

  • "Dragon eyes" is actually Longang. It has brown outer skin.

Lychees is lychees. It has RED outer skin.

These fruits are very sweet and juicy.. they are used in traditional Chinese medicine too.

  • if you go forward instead of backwards it works alot better

  • open the fucking can already.

  • 2:52

  • >.< i was doing it backwards lol if you go clockwise it's so much easier

  • thank you but my can opener is not like that so i need to buy another one

  • dragons balls in a can covered in syrup :)

  • use the can opener to flip it up to avoid cutting yourself

  • On SAK-style openers I find it easier to move the opener /forward/ after each stroke rather than backward. You don't have to reseat the device after each cut and you never end up moving too much and ending up with uncut sections.

  • Personally.... I always stabbed by cans, don't know why. Maybe because it was faster, or I felt like a badass (If opening a can via knife makes that possible), or I just like stabbing shit. :P

  • Anyone else thinking they look like testicles.

  • Jesus you're a pretentious little fucker

  • okay, gotta say this was helpful as my normal can opener broke and i never had to use the one on my swiss knife... although a bit too long of an explanation of the can and the bottle opener lol

  • it's not pronounced that way -_-

  • well i managed to do a little hole in my can somehow i forced it to open now im eating i dont know what it is its some kinda of a chicken thing

  • Two things every man woman and 10 year old+ should atleast have a Swiss army knife the knife is seen as a wepone when it is the only wepone that was at first a tool second the can opener is the one that hurts when you rub your finger down it lol

    Sorry about the spelling

  • and it not a hard shell it mushee.. and the seed inside isnt toxic o_O

  • they in vietnam :D

  • Lychees are in season in India right now, and you are welcome to buy them fresh and not eat them from cans. Not so exotic, and not as expensive either. But delicious, nonetheless!

  • thanks

  • omfg. i don't care about the history of lychees...i just want to know how to use a damn can opener

  • lycheee

  • OH MY GOD SHUT UP AND OPEN THE CAN ALREADY.

  • If somebody doesn't know how to use a can opener, they should just stay in the house. Don't go outside...the World is far too dangerous for you! Just kidding, actually a good video for the younger crowd that's never had to open a can. Today it looks like 'pull tops' are taking over. Peace!

  • Lychees aren't dragon eyes. Dragon eyes are called Long Yan (Dragon eye in Cantonese) Go to a Chinese supermarket and buy some, they taste significantly different, Lychees are sweet with a little sour taste (Like when you drink lemonade). Long Yan are sweet (depending on the season) and don't cause that gunk in your neck like when you drink a sugary drink.

  • -falls asleep - we dont care we only wanna se u how to use the can opener

  • lol hey look its gragon balls xD its cherrys too thats wats funny

  • <3

  • we eat those in Costa Rica (well I don't), it's called mamón chino in spanish

  • my not interested lychees my interested how to open a can

  • 废话真多。。

  • dragon balls lol

  • you're so good at that.

  • i learned (by myelf) how to open cans with my teeth lol

  • lol i have the exact same knife lol

  • Lychees I love them, I buy them fresh when they are in season. I go to my local Asian store which I am too and I buy them at mid spring near summer. That's when they are in season, if I remember correctly I buy a crate for like $30.

  • i have a really old can opener with 2 handles and knobs and i DONT KNOW HOW TO USE IT!!!!!IVE BEEN TRYING FOR THE PAST 15MIN AND STLL DONT KNOW HOW TO USE IT!!!!!!!!!IM STARVING!!!!!

  • I didn't know they were toxic. I've chomped down the pit too for years... Oh well. No damage done. *twitch*

  • I love lychees

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP MAN IM TRYING TO OPEN MY CAN

  • You are going backwards...go forward so that the edge doesn't get stuck every time.

  • fucker

  • actually lychees taste better freshly peeled the canned version sucks once you taste it fresh i live in a tropical country and when their in season they sell em' in large(ish) baskets ate the market or in bunches

  • @pacmandem thanks, you saved me a bunch of time :D

  • JUST OPEN THE FUCKING CAN

  • you sound like janitor from scrubs xD

  • just open the fuckin can!

  • lychees is different than dragon balls.

  • OMG! I was doing it wrong! This is way better than my way :D

  • 2:52 LIKE THIS COMMENT SO OTHERS DONT HAVE TO SIT AND WATCH FOR AGES.

  • @pacmandem it actually starts at 3:43

  • @Sims29 27 people clearly don't care..

  • @pacmandem you did, since you commented on when you thought the video started

  • @Sims29 No. Understand it properly. 27 people don't care about your shaving an additional 51 seconds off.

  • @pacmandem I'll expand on that and say 3:31 :)

  • zzzzzzzzzzz......

  • u talk too much

  • Lychees (called Mama Chinos in Panama and probably elsewhere in Latin America) are much more awesome fresh because their skin looks like they came straight out of Avatar. By the way, thumbs up for intelligent comments!

  • 2:51 thumbs up to not hear the explaining part and the lychees part

  • I love lychees so much

  • Longan=Dragon Eyes?

  • got a swiss army knife and noticed it didnt have a flamethrower or a chainsaw :( need to add those

  • i doubt lychee pits are toxic my mum eats them off the branch

  • Lychees have red skin. Dragon Eyes have Brown Skin with black speckles. Typically Lychees are bigger and sweeter. Dragon Eyes are smaller. o-o

  • eeeeewwwwwwwwwww they looks like eye balls

  • Also I live in a ruff area f manchester England were half the police are drugys and we still eat them by the way toxic doesn't mean deadly it means harmful

  • That would probably be some sort of waiters knife or something designed like that also every has a Swiss army knife my sister who is two!!!! Has a my first victorinox thank god its blunt tipped though

  • lychees arent strange...I love them....and their pronounced " Leech-ease"

  • Lychee is so common in hawaii..

  • My swiss knife has one blade and a corkscrew what type would that be?

  • I've never realize that lychee isn't common in your area :P

lychee is very common here in Malaysia

  • And the seed isn't toxic. If it is,i would be dead now, like i mean,i eat the fruit in and the seed out,so there's direct contact to the seed.Well,i'm alive.

  • Erm,the shell isn't hard actually

  • I guess it's not that obvious to most people, but still this video only needs to be about 15 seconds.

  • mmmmmmm, dragon balls... :) lol

  • OPEN THE CANNNNNNN

  • lychees yum yum, longans yum yum

  • how can you not know how to open a can, seriously?

  • Dragon eyes are different from lychees. Two different fruits.

  • I love your videos but honestly this is going backwards. It will work, but with Vic and SOG you go forward, with Leatherman pull backwards. And all these work best if you are right handed, that's just the way the bevels are set up on them. I don't blame anyone for going the wrong direction, as it isn't consistent from one manufacture to the other.

  • oh sweet, I love those thingies

  • the lychees are amazing. especially candy that are flavored like that. and i did not know the pits were toxic. does it kill you? its also pronounced. ( li-chee ). not ( litchee)

  • the lychees are amazing. especially candy that are flavored like that. and i did not know the pits were toxic. does it kill you?

  • And I love those things

  • I'm chinese and that fruit correctly pronounced is lee-zhir, the American way is leechee

  • According to Cantonese pronunciation, it's "lai chee".

The "dragon's eye" you're talking about is "longan", which is also Cantonese, I think it's lychee's cousin, same looking flesh but different shell. Whatever.

They are southern-China fruits, that's why they can grow in South Florida.

  • That's an old video but I don't see any valid comments that you're doing it in the wrong direction! After puncturing the can, you're moving the opener forward, just cutting through the lid. ;)

  • I should make a video on how I do it, last 2 times I opened a can without a can opener I used a knife, either my little buck transport or the machete also known as teh cold steel spartan

  • psh who is dumb enough not to know how to use a can opener

  • @tessFranco9 you would be suprised

  • thats pretty scary, toxic fruit

  • the "dragon eye" fruit is LONGAN, look like LYCHEE but they are actually different!

  • OMG! u cudnt be slower!!!

  • sweeeet

  • Thank you for saving my dinner ^^

  • This video could have been much shorter...I sat there watching with a can opener in one hand and can in another, and had to sit through the first 2 minutes (I know, slow connection) thinking HURRY UP AND JUST OPEN THE CAN

  • I think, you're using the opener "in the wrong direction". ^^ If you're cutting the can "forward" (seen from the knife) instead of "backwards" like you do, the can would be open much faster.

  • Thanks for this video public service. That can opener is designer to cut in a FORWARD walking motion. The tab on the very end acts as a stop for each cut.

  • Thank you!

  • Rofl Marlboro swiss army knife c:

  • the weird fruit is lychee mostly found in hawaii

  • Thanks for the video!

  • we eat these in hawaii all the time

  • dragon bals uhhh

  • i was laughing pretty hard when i read marlboro on your swiss army knife

  • video starts at 3:00

  • thanks for the help... i grew up with an electric can opener. haha

  • Dragon Balls ahhahaha XD

  • ahah you have it wrong by the way. ahah there two types of fruit that you are talking about the ones you were eating at the chinese buffee is longan ( translated in cantonese) haha but they are really similar fruits. lychees is pronounced lie-ji in cantonese btw to. but longans are more sweet and better fresh same with lychees.

  • Thanks for this tut~

by the way in the vid u said u ate 'dragon eye' in the chinese restaurant.

    It's not lychee~ It's Longan~

    Longan is smaller than lychee~

    But i prefer Longan. :D

Now i know that my multitool can open cans

  • LOL dragon ball that made my day im assuming their are stars on the fruit ^^ also good video i had no idea i had a can opener on my multi tool will be using as often as possible

  • step one is.... clean off the top of the dirty can...

  • They are called 龙眼 (long yan), which literally translates to dragon eyes

    The more you know :D

  • what knife is that?

  • Bro, It's much more efficient if you go 'forward' as opposed to going back.......so it automatically advances forward when you go up and down

  • i've never actually bought canned lychee. half the fun is cracking and peeling the skins off :)

great vid, now i know how to use the can opener on my gerber flik.

  • Don't care about Lychees (even though they are delicious), but thanks for the tutorial.

  • That's really one "unconventional" can opener.

  • How to: Focus your camera on the right objects

  • their acctually pronounced (leech-ees)

  • Sounds good to me .

  • hey jeff! u sure know the little hole at the bottle opener at swiss army knifes, its ment to stripe wires, could you please show us how to use them? I'm still trying to find it out, but i really have no idea how it works.

Sry. for my bad English! Regards from Germany, Tom

  • Thank you cutlerylover for helping me when I needed to save the day, or in this case the stomach as my fiance was hungry I found a can of fruit, but no can opener; so i found my leatherman and then realized i had forgotten my most basic basics of boy scout training, damn! so i found your video opened the can(yes!) and now am searching to see where i can buy lychee, thanks again.

  • the bottle opener and the can opener can by used as a screwdriver

  • A better distingusher btw the can opener and the bottle opener is that the bottle opener has the wire stripper on it ( the small cut out just below the lip). Love your vids cutlerylover. keep it up!

  • I use this very knife (50's ribetted vintage) model, but I prefer to use a reversed grip and push it forward instead of pulling it (then it does almost all the work by itself) By the reversed method you can open a can like this in mere seconds.

  • my bad its dragon eye fruit your right my bad

  • a lychee is called Dragon fruit in america my friend owns a chinese buffet and they have them there there awesome

  • lychees in chinese arent dragon eyes. Logans which are very similar to lychees are called dragons eyes long-dragon an-eye

  • Very useful. Thanks.

  • I tried this earlier with a really cheap Swiss Army Knife on a can of mandarin oranges and pieces of metal broke off into the oranges on me and it was really hard to get the can opener to go through the can. Do you think thats because I was trying it with a really cheap one?

  • @lynyrd01skynyrd13 yeah.. the victorinox is the best design IMO

  • Its pronounced lee-chee and its called dragon fruit in Cambodia.

    Great Video keep making more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheRatedExperience

    Hey!

It's not called dragon fruit in Cambodia! I've bin there and dragon fruit is totally diffrent. Also delicious, but not this fruit. (:

    greetings

  • the fruit looks yummy

  • leechees. we grow them down here in south florida.

  • @esorzinom it's lychee (pronounced as lie-chee)

  • @fakhrain Here we prounounce it Lee-chee.

  • I made i video of this a month before you and yours has fifty times the views lol every time someone watches mine 50 watch yours that just shows how good your vids are i love them seen most of them i don't really watch all the gun vids since guns are illegal here but all the other

  • Thanks for sharing.

Namaste (The light in me; honors the light in you)

  • Nice vid. It would be great to have a video where you use the Reamer with sewing eye, I have the Victorinox explorer. Thanks!

  • i ate that fruit

  • Dragon eye got different shaped shells which is not red.

  • the pits have cyanide in them. Apples and pears do too. Its even in very small amounts in the skins.

  • its callt long yen ;)

  • Dragon Eyes, that's familiar. I first had them as something called Longan, I think, or something like that.

    Good stomachic supposedly, enjoy :p

  • Thank you.

  • i have those all the time because i live in kauai

  • Man me an my bre eat these at the buffet but I never know what they were I thought it was like a grape or something cus the 1z that u had were smaller but yea lol

  • I tried this way, it was sort of difficult at first.

  • just to let you know if you go the other way you don't get the jagged edge. you have the motion right, you just go the wrong way.

  • i found these chinese lychee flavored sodas and it was good it had a marble that you pushed down really hard and it would go in to this hollowed out part so it could come through it was weird

  • cool i had one before except mine was strawberry flavored

  • oh and most asians just pick up fresh ones and spit the pit out like a cherry. my 3-year-old cousin is allowed to eat them with the pit. i thought it was dangerous for her but she loves them.

  • lychees are pretty tasty

  • lmao im Viet and when u pronounce lychee the Y has a long E sound.

  • Hi there, I am a Chinese from Hong Kong.

Lychee and dragon eyes are actually two different kinds of Chinese fruit. Lychee likes you said is of red hard shell, while dragon eyes is of yellow brown hard shell.

    Lychee is of stronger taste.

  • leecheee is how its pronounced

  • Totally unnecessary:)).

  • dood i love those ive been eating them since i was 2 years old and i am ADDICTIDED TO THEM

  • Nice video.

Lychee bubble tea at Vietnamese restaurants=the bomb!

  • check out gizmocanopener (dot) org for cool can opener info

  • kind of as if you always have the answwers to the questions i have about these knifes!
