It looks like a cup of barf. Maybe thats what the ancient Japanese did for entertainment, barfed into cups and played with it until it spilled all over..

We've had that game in the US for a long time now. I forget what it's called but you put all the yellow shapes into the correct slots before the timer runs out or pops up and throws all the pieces everywhere.
