how about a engine swap , a 2zzge and 6 speed tranny from a GT-S Celica or a 2003 corolla XRS , and a Apexi PFC to reset VVTLi "lift" around 5000 rpm and rev all the way to 9000rpm sound? thats what i would do when i get a 3 door Yaris. a perfect sleeper ;-) !!!
@ pghnikonian: You forget that the Yaris is already light and nimble in stock form. Add proper upgrades to it (gutted interior + coilovers + swaybar especially) and it can dominate on autocross and road courses, where REAL racing occurs.
The same mods on an EVO, M3 or Mazdaspeed3 will deliver a better result. Don't get me wrong I like the Yaris. I would be driving one if Toyota finished it with a better interior. Driving a Yaris with the stock interior would be like cutting off my junk a putting them in a jar for my wife to hold.
lol So you're saying you don't like a Yaris just because of its' interior? I admit the center speedometer is kinda annoying during the first month of ownership, but as far as mods go: a gutted interior is a gutted interior. Besides, if you get a Yaris you'll have more cash left over to spend on mods, as opposed to getting a bigger car and having to save-up for mods. More bang for the buck, more-so if you can tune it exactly the way you want =)

The Yaris is cute but please don't tell me it's a serious drag racer. No chance you're gonna run 10's in a Yaris.
But I will say that the look outstanding dropped with a kit and wheels. I would turbo the car just to make it drivable... forget racing.
