can you do this in post or is it possible to change the frame rate while you are shooting? What is more efficient ? How is it done in the industry these days?
Hey guys, I just used speed ramping in AE. I used a sony HDR HC3, which although can do high speed filming, I didn't use that function because the quality is terrible.
When using Time Remapping, think of that there is also skills involved, not only a powerful feature.
Which frame to begin slow down to get best effect.
Place the keyframes at th right frame.
When done putting in the keyframes where you want them, you can try CTRL clicking on every keyframe to make it a circle. When you do that every thing will "fade" into or out from slomotion for example. Instead of the regular keyframes wich changes the speed at one single frame.
There is no contest between Twixtor and After Effects, its like night and day. The only problem is Twixtor will run you around $600 just for the single plugin.

@International1986 I used a normal camera, then used Adobe After Effects to slow things right down :)

To get nice Speed-Ramping and Slow-Motion:
Film with high shutter speed on your camera. Makes it not look blurry when slowing your footage down in post.
Film in high FPS wich you can convert down in post to get Slo-Motion.
