Thank you Neil, this was wonderful and a little sad at the same time. I know others have commented on how thin and worn out John looks in some of these pictures, but it was really kind of shocking. Still enjoyed it very much.
God Damn it John! Why didn't you just let the limo take you all the way in??????? I still can't fucking believe it! Kinda hard to accept even 30 years later.
Does anyone think that he looked like shit in 1980, really thin and visually tired like mentally and physically? he didn't look like he had any life in him at that point, although I could be totally wrong.
@JRGrange25 I agree. I always thought that he never really aged well. He used to be so cute in the early days as a Beatle, but then in the seventies he seemed so frail and tired. I just think more than anything he wanted the old days back. I know that's what Paul said in an interview and that he wanted them back together too. If you watch a video of John in the seventies and 1980 and then one of say, The Beatles performing, you'll see a HUGE difference. They were having the times of their lives.
The first is Nowhere Man by The Beatles from the Rubber Soul album and the second is Please Mister Postman by The Beatles from the With The Beatles album. Please Mister Postman is a cover, Nowhere Man is an original song.
Thanks Neil--These images show John as just another human being with the moods, highs and lows we all have in our lives. I love the photo of Sean and John at 5:05. They both look so vulnerable--especially John. he has a boyish look about him as in the early Hamburg shots. The emotion hits you square in the chest. What a terrible sad waste of talent we have had to witness. You want to reach out, put your arms around him and keep him safe.. As if that terrible night had never happened....
Sure. Just send me a message to remind me because I am on my laptop right now and I don't feel like getting up to get it from my PC. I know, I am lazy.
Before anyone asks and I know that they will if I don't post this (hell, even if I post this they might), but the series of pictures of John getting out of the car IS NOT from the day of his murder. It's from late August-early September 1980.

I don't understand why people hate Yoko. John loved her, so i don't want anything bad for her, other people should neither.

Ya know, It only occurred to me now, at 43, that John looks a pretty old 40. Hmmm.. makes me wonder.

great great great photos!!!!!!!! I didn't know half of them and that was a very pleasant surprise:)
however the photos from late 1980 which show john in side face scary me a bit cause they remind me of the photo where john is dead.....
Great job though and thanks very much for posting them:)

I agree. Given what we see later there is a pale, uneasy edge to the image.
