Thanks for the comments, actually it was several stupid things over a period of time, first it was the thing where he got on national television during a katrina telethon and made the comment about george bush doesn't care about black people, when even if he felt that way, that was nor the time or the place to put his opinion on that matter, the others were being drunk and attacking paparazzi's camera (not saying that probably wasn't provoked, and ofcourse the t swift thing. I just can't give credit to rappers who act like...themselves. It's like praising Eminem for 8mile. He just revisited the past events of his life. I wouldn't exactly call it method as he actually lived it.

And even then more props go to Em then to Kanye. This is just Jonze attempting to be deep again, just like he was in Being John Malkovich. It felt way too forced (Double entendre suicide) and very campy (the entire leopard segment).

All sides aside, I found the film to be enjoyable and I didn't even put in prospective that it was too forced or overly deep. I enjoyed it, despite the fact that its Kanye. I don't find that Kanye made the short film what it was, but I do find it interesting that man with such a big "ego" would want to have himself portrayed in such a weakened state of mind. Good observation. Often when fame becomes too much to handle, artists often say they would rather give it up, but it makes me wonder, its easy to say "I'll just give it all up, to be normal" but are they truly wanting that, or are they just saying that because they know thats what others want to hear to express sympathy when someone does/says something stupid? I just think its a visiual interpretation of the publics reaction to his abbrassive behavior and his overly expressive actions. it's a "look in the mirror" type of short film to me. Not that hard to process if you listen to lyrics in his music. He is extremely expressive in whatever he does. His regret is deeper than simple apologies... for anything out of a line that he has done. It makes his thoughts about himself turn rotten and he cant stomach it....

i know that kanye has messed up in the public eye but this guy is absolutely amazing. kanye west generates so much quality material in all types of art and music its just extremely rare and makes me feel fortunate to to be in this era of music and film. I appreciate all good art and music no matter what genre and kanye west no matter what you think of him is apart of that elite group.
