I've messed around with one of these things at guitar center. Does anyone know how well they interact with pedals, considering you have to have the gain up a considerable amount in order to get any kind of decent volume out of it????
Ive had my tiny terror for a couple years now and i still get excited every time i play through it. Its just such a great amp and Andy is such a good guitarist, he can make anything sound good, and good things sound amazing. PGS rocks!
This amp demo got me off my ass and into a shop to try it out. It really nailed the tone on the Stones' Can't you Hear Me Knockin, Zep's Rock and Roll, and Sabbath's Supernaut, so I bought one. I've had it for a month now and I couldn't be happier. Thanks Andy and PGS!
@theSavageHippie Well, the difference is easier to see when actually using the knobs, in a nutshell, it's easier to get that higher gain, more growly sound without pissing many people off with the 7 watt mode because the amp breaks up quicker on the lower wattage setting because there is less of what's called 'Headroom' that's why if you ever see what are known to be good clean amps (Fender Twin Reverb, Blackstar HT-40) they all have higher wattage so they can have more headroom.
what is tiny terror use for??is it an amp or smeting...why that it is put on the other amp cabinet.are they need to be conected together or what..????i dont understand the function and why it is put on the other amp cabinet..please help me
@MemorymanDL He bent the neck of the les paul to get a whammy bar like effect and started switching between the bridge and neck humbucker, maybe he also turned the volume of the neck pickup down to turn the switch into a killswitch. Anyways, the note turned into feedback while switching.
hi PGS, I'm interested in buying a 10" tiny terror combo and I'd like to buy a cool booster, od or dist pedal with it, what would fit the combo or what kind of pedal would you like to use with it? my budget is about 200 dollars, and I play anything between blues and hard rock. (from john mayer till muse and radiohead and all clasic rock).
@nichr225256 Any tube amp can be dialed in to a sweet clean tone - crank the level, go easy on the gain, and roll back the volume knob on your guitar a few notches. With most tube amps, that's a pretty solid clean tone, and the Terror can get VERY clean, much cleaner than this video shows.
@nichr225256 This is not true at all. There are plenty of 6L6 tube amps that hardly distort at all. My mesa boogie lonestar has clean headroom out the wazzoo. I've played jazz standards completely clean with the amp at 6 or 7 for a club. But many brittish amps like orange and marshall dont clean up
Hi, great demo!! Can u make a demo of the Orange Crush Pix 20 or 35 LDX solid state amps? Thinking to get one,Some say that they´re great, others they´re crap... thanks!!!
hey man i got an ac15c1 and im looking for something that will sound a little different for recording. are the lower gain settings on this voxish because of the el84's?
Am I correct in thinking that this amp is similar to the Vox amps, because they all use EL84s in the power section? I don't know much about how the electronics work.
about a year ago, i had a dream where i was in some sort of factory or manufacturing company, and all i saw were massive amounts of these orange colored amps, orange colored cabinets, you name it. it was incredibly loud, even in such a large place because ppl were blasting these things at such high volumes. i remember the tones were brilliant, and i was discouraged when i saw the price tag. when i awoke, i was curious and typed in 'orange colored amps' into google. to my amazement, they exist :3
Hey PGS! love your reviews! Just curious though, you guys going to do a review on the Orange Dark Terror soon?? I'm interested in acquiring one. Thanx abunch
The Wizard, Black Sabbath: Orange Tiny Terror is perfect for Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, but also for more blues/bluesrock stuff as well. All in all amazing Class- A valve amp !
Hey, does anyone know about the Dark Terror? Every Expo demo I have seen has been using it for metal. Do you think that it would be a good amp for non-metal purposes?
Orange amps are just Marshall's without balls. I'm not the largest fan of Marshall but for a company to do a bad copies of marshall and charge astronomic prices for a tiny bit of kit. Can't see the fuss and please don't insult me by saying I don't get.
seriously PGS what's this guys name? it doesn't matter what amp is being demo'd this dude is the best guitarist to ever live.. i want references to more material of this guy enstead of bookmarking all of his amp demos
is this guy in a arena band or something? dude. you're a genius i swear. please get back at me.. what model Les Paul is that?
I'm going to be putting my tiny terror up for sale. I've been playing it for almost two years with a strat knok off or a squire strat, and through an epiphone 1x12 cab. If you're not going to go all the way with this amp, dont bother. Use a good guitar. Play through an orange 1x12 or any 4x12. Dont cut corners and make damn sure all you like the distortion it gives because there is only one flavor with minimal seasonings. This one trick pony has a mean trick and if you get it youll love it
@TheTelecaster14 From what I understand, it'll blow the amp if you don't have it plugged into a cab (With the correct impedance also. If it was wrong it would also blow. haha)
I have the combo but I think on 7 watts it just cuts the top end howl off a bit and dulls the sound a little. It is an amazing amp tho now ive got to grips with it, I must admit to not liking it at the begining but letting it howl while my neighbour was out was a life changing moment :0))
If i buy this amp, will it be loud enough for a gig? and if not, what do i do? do i plug another amp in or something? i have always been confused on the setup for large gigs
I have the TT.i like it a lot its agressive and brutal. But i also own the vox nighttrain in my opinion the nighttrain blows the TT away.i think its a much better amp and more versatile.
actually i think the tt clean sound is underated..there are some great clean tones to be had here without much effort..i ordered one for the clean leads i was able to get..apologies pgs crew..
sorry man..your clean demo wasn't clean at all?? boogie blues clean with a lead burnout at the end wth? havent heard anyone demo a decent clean on these yet..
@teanakai - If you're looking for pristine jazz or '80's "power ballad" type clean tones the Tiny Terror probably isn't the amp for you. It's a dirty amp...that's what low wattage tube amps do best. For squeaky clean tones you'll do better with something higher wattage, with more clean headroom. Thanks for watching!
@teanakai i use the dirtier channel on my orange AD30 to get a great chimey clean tone with plenty of body. i bet you can get a similar sound with the gain low and the volume max in the 15w setting, especially with the guitar vol rolled back just a touch.
@teanakai dude I've tried the tiny terror combo 1x12 (which sounds alot different from the head) and if your looking for something that does clean better than a deluxe reverb, u should check it out. I would recommend putting a reverb pedal in front of it if you want more jazz.
tested the TT in store and it sounded ok... in store with low volume, and twisting the gain knob. The tones Andy gets here sound massive and pro, but he has the volume flat out, and that's worth knowing.
Even with 5 watts you can be heard above drums...if your drummer isn't the hulk. And i'm talking about rehearsal here...you don't need a BEAST to rehearse or record.
Andy thanks for confirming my purchase! Everytime I think it might be time to move on from the TT I watch this and remember why Its the best amp in the world!
if using this amp live, how would you switch from clean to overdrive straight away? also do pedals go well with this amp because it doesnt have reverb?
@hackett999 its really up to your style of music. i play rock, on the hard side...like ac dc. the orange terror is perfect at it. responsive, dynamic. everything. BUT the clean tones are nothing to be rave about. I never play clean tones through it. The night train. i dont own it but ive played it a lot. their clean tones are great. nice and chimmey like any other vox. but in my opinion, the overdrive sounds muddy and not too good. the pgs video makes it sound far better than what it truly is
@groscaca69 Not exactly, man, listen in headphones. 15w has a sharper attack and a little more bass response, which gets a little spongier and more saturated in 7w. It's certainly subtle, but not worth overlooking in an in-depth review. I have one of these, and especially in the studio, that wattage switch is priceless.
Love the lead in with PJ!

frontmanmike 3 months ago
@frontmanmike As a builder of tube amps I can say for a fact that not every tube amp be dialed in to a clean tone. Maybe most, but certainly not all.
That said, my best friend just bought one of these and you are right about how well they clean up.
sepulchre10 3 months ago

Don't see the attraction to these amps other than the fact that they look cool.

I used to own an Orange Tiny Terror. Then I sold it and bought an Orange Rocker 30. I still miss the Tiny Terror. That's how good this thing is.

i compared the night train and terror yesterday at GC and the Orange is MUCH better. And I'm a long time Vox player

testing the difference between 7watt and 15 watt is so useless....

@groscaca69 on a youtube video, maybe. go play one yourself. enjoy
