Getting back to Tia, her acting is excellent and when she isn't acting, she is just a natural in front of the cameras. Her daughter Nicole seems to have inherited her talents from her Mum too.
I am not a huge Janis fan but I do have a greatest hits CD that has some great songs and great performances on it. A few years ago, Janis singing Mercedes Benz was used in a TV advert here in the UK. It was after hearing that, that I went out and bought the CD. Its a tragedy that she died so young and recorded so few albums. She was doing it at a time, the late 60s, when very few women were making it big in music. Especially rock music.
Absolutely Monkeeman1, she opened the doors for women in that genre, screaming her heart out with a style so unique. After she changed bands from Big Brother and The Holding Company the new band couldn't quite keep up with her, so she tried to slow down with the band. But still produced some gems like this. First band had an amazing bass player :) - John
I think she is so underrated and her acting conveys sadness and happiness so well. I especially enjoyed the part where she is standing, drinking wine in a black dress and then it cross dissolves to her sitting down, hair flowing, wearing a necklace. She can talk with her eyes. I was married when I was 19, divorced a long time ago now. Had 2 more children since my divorce, I've been a single parent for quite some time now, even the times when I have had 'a man' I've still been a single parent. My last relationship ended last year. The music makes me look a bit sad and desperate doesn't it ;) lol! Damned Joplin!
