It seems to me that the only problem with Mozart his requiem is that none of us will ever be worthy to have this glorifying music being played at our funeral.
@7headed10horned I meant being worthy as a person, there are geniuses today, in science there are several but this music, to me is not about prestige. Maybe it can serve the funeral of a farmer...I can only say that this music is too nice to play at my funeral.
@masterofsynapsis You as an atheist are indeed completely unworthy to have this music played on your funeral. On numerous forums you have established yourself as a denier of the Divine."this music is too nice"? a belittling and patronizing comment on this creation inspired by the Divine. But you know what? You will probably be forgiven for your ignorance and arrogance on your moment of death.Yes,even assholes and hypocrites are taken into account by the Divine.Lucky bastard!
@masterofsynapsis Are you so stupid that you do not even realize that this miracle was written for people like you?How could you ever contemplate this music at his highest level? Fafoulleke!!
@masterofsynapsis I understand what you mean, and I feel the same way. Something about this song is so powerful that my life as it is could not justify a performance of this magnitude at my funeral. By the way, fms192837465fms1 is an idiot. "Believers" sure like to run their mouths -- or their fingers at the keyboard, as it were. If anyone is the asshole in need of "divine forgiveness," it's that person. Peace out, fellow atheist! :)
Sukkeleir!
amy lees version is a good too but i also like lalas lullaby from the anime d. grey man. she sings a version of this you know is based off this song but the musical arrangement is totally different.
"Mozart began to speak of death, and declared that he was writing the Requiem for himself. Tears came to the eyes of the sensitive man: 'I feel definitely,' he continued, 'that I will not last much longer; I am sure I have been poisoned. I cannot rid myself of this idea.' " (from the 1798 biography of Mozart by F. X. Niemetschek)
we are singing this in my high school choir :) he died after 1:00 i'm pretty sure. i really wish their dicton was better, but i love this song. so powerful. mozart is amazing.
@smildonfatalis1 Actually, I've already had... It's really wonderful! I'm very fond of Amy Lee and Evanescence. Did you know that Lacymosa is the scientific name for a kind of moth (Tearful Underwing)? ;)
@LuciusTheWarrior Yes I did actually lol. Did you know Lacrymosa was supposed to be in "The Cronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, And the Wardrobe" Movie?
"What.. what makes a man, Mr. Lebowski? Is it.. is it, being prepared to do the right thing? Whatever the price? Isn't that what makes a man?" 'Sure. That and a pair of testicles. '
@Slowmo118 Bach is better!! lol! Eventhough I always tell people I don't think much of Mozart "The Man" (and no, I don't picture Tom Hulce from "Amadeus" when I write this...:D) He was somewhat unkind to other musicians, but that's what most genuises are: detached for the most part from "the common folk" (Hey, Bach looked and acted like a bulldog, but he's my favorite, what can I say!!) Anyhoo...the Requiem in d and latter Symphonies by Mozart are truly beatiful, because he'd been studying Bach.
@Slowmo118 Him and Beethoven definately. Though I lead more to Beethoven personally, since he wrote many more beautiful songs than Mozart. I also love Clint Mansell and Danny Elfman. :)
@ 1:12 where is the pic from, amazing song, powerful ,i like the bit at 2:27 where the basses and tenors split to have a echo effect, well it is sad but ironic that he wrote this and it was played at his funreal, And @awesomestgirl14aol so did we
