Simon is right about the confidence issue. But her "problem" is that she can sing anything...pop, soul, ballads, hip-hop. I bet she can sing opera too. It would be difficult for her to pinpoint one genre of music. She will develop over the next few years and possibly zero in one genre but to pigeon-hole her now would be horrid. The most exciting thing for her and for her fans is to see her develop into EVERYTHING she is. Multi-talentism is a "good" problem Simon(no hate..i secretly love you).
I think Simon was right by telling her about her confidence issues. But,we got to keep in mind that she´s a sprout, and everybody @ certain age has confidence issues, she´s still trying to discover herself as a person and as an artist, she just has to take her layers off. But,again, she wants to be a real artist and it requires confidence, determination, tenacity, passion and talent. Can´t marinate your future. She has an exquisite voice colour, the presence, excellent vibratto and falsetto, great vocal range
I am not agree. When you are 18, you not have too know, what you will be doing. Correct, that a popalbum will sell most right now. But she is so good a singer, that she if she is promoted right, dont have too be a weekend fly, but can get her own still, with pop, ballade and so on.
@BeauG92 You're such a hypocrite! First you say that she is shit and a few minutes later you say that she is great. You also said that the Dutch standards were shit and a few minutes later, after you had seen the compilation of all the auditions of x-factor Holland 2011, you said the opposite. It's like you're unstable or something. Make up your fucking mind!
Simon is Right~You can have all the Talent in the World but if you Don't know how you want to use it you're Lost.
Rochelle would be great @ singing Pop, Soul & Smooth Jazz but if you want your Album to sell Millions you've got to Sing Pop with some Romantic Ballads that could have a touch of Soul.
Smooth Jazz is great but has a limited "Buying" audience & does not give the Record Companies the Financial Returns they are looking for.
Do Pop until you're a Star..Then anything you want Rochelle!
she can sing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, Eric Teunissen will have to admit Simon was right, like he is most of the time. No Air was not a brilliant choice of song for a debut single.
