@Geek4Rugged Because the fact that lenovo is proving that you can put a thinkpad trough almost anything and have the data survive ? 10 out of 10 so 100% of the time that all of the data will survive I have a T60 and i il say that i have had this laptop through everything suh as this one time had my thinkpad out in the snow and ice for 6.5 hours the "life of the battery" i covered it in snow did not stop the thinpad!
OMG you guys are idiots. The meaning of this video is that Lenovo books will still back up all your data and not loose a single thing under these conditions. Something no other computer can do.
Oh, I have seen all the video out there. I think the issue is you don't understand the difference between marketing and reality. You should look at the PC Magazine failure rate numbers. Lenovo has very high failure rates. New data from Squaretrade shows the same.
Those who think they are not rich enough to fund a Toughbook dont understand the difference between price and cost.
cost is part of reality. Sure you can build a really well made notebook but what's so successful about it if it doesn't meet its original marketing goals? Just like how segway failed.
That song is from the movie "Willie Wonka And the Chocolate Factory" (1971), which is the 1st hollywood release of the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" book by the esteemed British Author Roald Dahl. Gene Wilder is singing the song.
They actually don't show the device survive anything (except for the highly demanding zero gravity test!). This is just marketing, nothing more. If you think it survived, I challenge you to buy a Lenovo, and do the same tests and post the videos. If you want to see a laptop really survive some rugged testing, check out the video Forbes did where they had a Tiger, elephant and .22 go after a Toughbook. Thats a laptop you can count on!
That's true. Lenovo is the only brand that its laptops have been certified to be used in the international space station.

This video is just a short compilation. The ThinkPad works after all the extreme tests you mentioned except for the underwater one.
