GODAMN! I love this song. I listened to it 17 times in a row while studying for my "New Orleans History" test. . . . not that Louisiana music has anything to do with bluegrass. It just really kept me hyped up and going!
@Orion13622 When I hear it I see myself hauling ass at 150 mph in my 66 Pontiac Beaumont, a bottle of Black Velvet in one hand and a big joint of hash in the other and just fucking tooling down the road with the local OPP on my ass...just like it happened in 1978. They didn't catch me that night but it was not long before they got hold of me. YYYEeeeeHHAAWWW!
@BholeViolater I saw your picture and you're calling me names? Fuck, you're an inbred chimp who looks like a poster boy for the aids campaign..STRAIGHT UP! Really..honestly..you are one of the ugliest fucking asslickers I've ever seen. I do believe you are the old fart that was dancing like a fool in that movie about your family..Deliverance.
@fgleich The soloists are (in order) Earl Scruggs Glen Duncan -- fiddle Randy Scruggs -- guitar Steve Martin -- banjo Vince Gill -- electric guitar Marty Stuart -- mandolin Gary Scruggs -- harmonica Albert Lee -- electric guitar (awesome!) Earl Scruggs Paul Schaffer (how he'd get an invite?) Jerry Douglas -- dobro Leon Russell -- organ Earl Scruggs
@aimpointvw Paul Schaffer besides being the bandleader on The Late Show is a grammy nominated musician, former SNL bandleader, one of the members of The Blues Brothers Band, and on the board for The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. So, I'd say he deserves to be there as much as anybody.
I know the second banjo is Steve Martin, the electric guitar that follows Martin is Vince Gill, mandolin is Marty Stewart, steel guitar is Steve Winwood, Paul Schaffer is piano, organ is Leon Russell
I think this absolutely fantastic song was in the good ole 70s the opener on AFN Munich for one of these brillant country music hours.
May be this one hour was called *Town and Country*, the DJ saying *We are walking our way down country roads...*. One of the DJ´s name was Air Force Sergeant Harry Johnson.
Well - those were memorable times and brillant country songs!!! Although it wasn´t cool in Germany at this time to listen to country music...
i can `air banjo` the shit out of this song!
