I'm familiar with the lore behind this, and I don't understand what the deal is with this ending. I liked it. Arthas, the ultimate Warcraft villain, dies a pathetic little death. It's perfect. For my own, i think that its the end of the "Lich King Chapter", Bolvar resilience and faith are really strong, and because of that, he can jail the Scourge, and balance the nerzhul power for the eternity.

On oposite of Arthas who want power to revenge and who become, because of that, weak front of Nerzhul, Bolvar just want to save the Life so, in my mind, i can't be corrupted by him.

The reason he became so posessed by his wish to destroy the scourage was that he cared so much for his land and his people that evrything Ner'Zhul did cracked his soul bit by bit till there was nothing left but to repay Mal'Ganis for all the lifes he had taken. Power wasnt his goal at all. Also Arthas was still very young... he didnt even guess that evrything could have been planed, just to turn him.

I would say, give it a few expansions, I think Bolvar is plotting his revenge against the Red Dragonflight.. Seeing as Cataclysm is based on Deathwing and Deathwing has alot to do with the dragons that done this to BOlvar, Bolvar might play a role in the upcoming expansion

At Wrathgate, Bolvar was "Killed", ANd the dragons of Wyrmest Temple came and cleansed the land, and that's where Bolvar's Body was, I think the Dragons power is so Strong, It brought him back to life but only to wield a Burden, of an Immolated Champion.

Well, that's an abortion of an ending. Arthas, an epic villain, just croaks, then Bolvar on fire becomes the new Lich King? Wow.... I thought the entire point of this expansion was to kill the LICH KING, not Arthas. The scourge should all instantly drop and become lifeless corpses once again, or become Forsaken. With Cataclysm wtfpwning Azeroth anyway, that could explain the lack of scourge in the Plaguelands.

heres the thing, the scourge were always under the control of the lich king, arthas needed to be stopped or more deaths were sure to come, back in the wrathgate Alexstrasza knew how it was going to end and she needed to seal the chain of destiny: "No one should know the true fate of the young paladin. Not yet", Bolvar was ment to become the new Lich king to stop the scourge from wrecking havoc across azeroth, there always will have to be a lich king no matter what

Also the ones who broke free of the Lich King's commands were powerful agents with atleast a bit of sense left in their heads. But the every-day scourge undead are completely mindless, and without their leader giving them straight instructions, they would go on a rampage. Lich King always consists of the 3 things; A host-body, Ner'Zhul and the Frostmourne. Without these 3, the power of the Lich King isn't absolute.
