@llollercoaster How? By scrying, you can put one or two cards on the bottom of your library if you don't need them for that particular situation. With ponder, you're going to eventually HAVE to take all of the cards you see, unless you shuffle. Preordain gives you more options for what to play because you can choose NOT to draw cards, whereas ponder just shows you what you'll inevitably draw.

@GarciaCornbread The whole point of ponder / brainstorm / preordain is digging for a card you need. Seeing an extra card is much better than being able to put one on the bottom and keep one.

If you keep both cards on top ponder would have been better in that situation. If you would have ditched both cards on top ponder would have been better. If you would have ditched one and kept one you might as well have played Sleight of Hand. No body would play Sleight of Hand over ponder.

If you have dead cards on top you shuffle. You do understand that a deck that's build correctly has a more likely chance of shuffling into cards that aren't dead in the match up.

If you need preordain to be a sleight of hand then you're just an awful player.
