On the outside of the Cathedral is a statue of the Blessed Virgin with the moon under her feet, she looks black! This is an unusual image of Mary and honestly a bit disturbing. The Blessed Virgin was middle eastern, therefore she was either tan or white. There were and still are very few black jews, so that increases the chance she was either tan or white, not black. But it doesnt matter what color she was.
While Moscow rebuilt it's "Cathedral of Christ the Savior", destroyed by the Bolsheviks in 1931, rebuilt in 2000, we're stuck with the "Taj Mahoney", that hideous pagan Masonic monstrosity! What's wrong with this picture? A true testament to that arch-heretic and non-Catholic, "Cardinal" Rogue Mahoney. A few redeeming qualities in this edifice, to be sure, but defintely a reflection of that false counterfeit religion that dares to call itself "Catholic", but in reality is the Novus Ordo Sect.
A black Virgin Mary is very uncommon.
