  • all good exept for the crappy synth voice

  • HDD hi-hat 4ever.

  • This is awesome!!! How did you made the hdds speaking?! OThis could be cool as a program for PCs xD -they have all you need - HDDs, buzzer,... xD

  • Using some Harddrives as Speaker awesome ;)

  • like bohemian rhapsody better, but this is cool.

  • Brilliant ideas. How is it that it is usually a bit out of time, but it never goes more than, say three quarters of a beat out of time? What is holding it all together? If you can explain that in a non-technical manner....

  • it's off beat...

  • @saturnative sweet - lets see you do this or bohemian rhapsody, or rock lobster...

  • If i wasn't 39 I'd think this was sarcasm. But I almost like it, well thought out, well done. Who am I to to proffer anyhow? (I'm an arse.)

  • CREATIVELY COOL.

  • wow this is again a brilliant video from you

  • hehe.. AWESOME!!!

it remebers those days when i had a C64. :)

  • This is really awesome. 5 stars!

  • Did anyone else think of South Park? "That's the melody to Funkytown!"

  • reminds me of Mistabishi - Printer Jam

  • hell nice

  • how do you do that i dont understand?

  • WICKED!!!

  • bare annoyin lol

  • His post seems to me like polite constructive criticism. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

  • Please see my response to DarkOrbitDeathPilot.

I would apologize for making you so upset except that it would appear that you rather enjoy it. I will try to choose my words more carefully next time for the sake of anyone as sensitive as yourself.

Also, the answer is yes; I am jealous. When I see talent like this, I want to see it go places. Sue me.

  • This is even better than the Bohemian Rhapsody.

  • OMG THIS IS TOP DOG this the funniest shit i ever heard in me life wtf reminds me of star wars that lil machine cubnt something b some shit

  • It has a good beat and you can dance to it.

  • I love this! Have you ever thought about putting an MP3 out for these? I would love to have this and the bohemian rhapsody on my ipod. They are GREAT!!!

  • @TetrisPlayer check also the house of the rising son.. it s even great mixed :P

  • A TI 99A and a C 64... Amazing machines for their time. I used to do rebuilds of the 64 years ago.. Change ram that blew, and such .

  • that is awsome!!! how long did it take you to do all this?

  • "that's it. that's the melody to funky town."

    great stuff.

  • sounds like junkie town... ahh what a town that would be

  • good shit......more to come?

  • Really I think you must take a comercial face of your music. You could make a lot of money doing it. Here (Buenos Aires) is a guy who make music with "cleaning things" like brooms or

  • Cool

    excellent

    wonderful

    amazing

    sobervio

  • cool music

  • GEIL!!!!!

  • wow! cool! i wish i could make something like that !!!

  • Great video overall. The "lyrics" are out of sync with the "rhythm section" though. If you recorded the different devices on different tracks, you could fix this easily. I suspect, though, that this isn't the case. The video is great. The lack of sync is a little distracting, that's all.

  • overall, you are a douche. i think he did a good job recreating the song being that he used junk.

  • I apologize if anybody is offended by my attempt at constructive criticism. I wrote this post after numerous requests to give constructive feedback on other videos, so I was kind of in that mindset.

I would assume that most people who create a work of art like this one would like to know how they could take it even farther. That said, I do apologize for any implication that he should change it; I was just trying to encourage/motivate.

  • these videos are interesting... when you don't know the learix to Queen Bohemian Raphosody the scanner sounds like its just making noises...

  • you rule!

  • thanks to the great dutch DJ Rob Stenders i found this song

  • EL OH ELLE JunkyTown part sounds like a chinese guy translator in hongkong XD no seriously O_O cuz i went there and stayed for 3 months :O!

  • i was going to favorite this one, but it makes my dogs bark.lol

  • rofl!!!

  • thats pretty cool

  • junkytown?

  • Were I unwed...seriously geeking out over your stuff.

  • What's cool is that the naturally hi tone of a hard drive speaker acts almost like a hi pass on the vocals, just like I'd do if I wanted to sample them and get a lot of the backing instruments out of it.

  • Hi, thisi is awesome.

I need to know: how do you program singing hard drives? Is there a software or what??

  • HA this is funny remix. you are very creative! you should apply for a job in Hollywood. Pixar or Dream Works or something.

  • owch....

  • LOL this is awesome how you put it together, but how did you get the printer to just sit there and go back and forth like that?

  • This is a hilarious remix!

"Junky town" - LMAO! I also did a remix of funkytown on my page as well!

  • junky town juajauajajaja

  • You should totally enter this into the contest at funkytown(dot)com. It would be perfect there.

  • You can take this is a "coplimate" - "Funkytown" is still one of my favorite dance songs ever, and I loved this. The more it went on, the more I couldn't stop laughing, and the comments made it even better. this IS Nerdgasm. I was laughing at it AND with it. Totally sounds like "Junkie Out." The British/Australian "Why don't you take me to!" was the icing on the cake.

  • it sounds like its saying chunky town LOL awsome

  • Perhaps if you'd spent a little more time getting everything to sync up and play smoothly, if would sound more professional. Good try though.

  • what the.......................... cool vid how many electronics did you do to make fun of my favorite song. find out if thats a coplimate or insult!

  • lol

    great

    freak xD

  • this is too creative!

    very cool.

not as good as the radiohead one, like krael said, but it's ok!

in some parts, it isn't very well syncronized, but it's cool! (:

    greetings from argentina.

p.d: sorry for my bad english-

  • bellissima...e siccome non capirete perkè siete inglesi succhiatori di pertiche..oppure spagnoli pompinari..:D

  • how they work together? Do you plug all the equipment on the c64?

  • this is awesome. Not as good as the Radiohead one, but this is quite awesome too!

  • Ah man thats awesome reminds me of my bbs days, go 2400bps w000

  • LOL what is this?? but i have to say creative tho LOL

  • holy crap lol

  • jajaja lol no mames

  • freshhhhhhhhhhhh video thanks

  • Very talented :) i love this kind of curious things that curious people like you, do, and curious people like me, watch :D

  • LOVE IT! (but its off course a little)

  • you mean off beat?

  • LOVE IT!

  • OMG I remember that printer

funny thing though, hard drives look the same now and then and they fail the same way

  • looks very retro, almost like its filmed in the 80s!

  • it ses junky town!!!!!!

  • It's FunkyTown not Junky

  • i agree! i sounds alot like .. chunky town :|

  • FUNKYTOWN

  • omg thats just opomg thats just omg thats yh thats yh um yh it is yh talk it aout yh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • a tad bit out, but otherwise a great attepmt

  • Verry Too Funny xD

  • a hard drive would be a speaker is the copper coil is connected to a audio amplifier?

  • It's my favorite too.

  • the tektronix amplitude display had my orgasm, right away. i need a kleenex.

  • Dude, I've been messing around producing sounds with my old scanner, made a C program that can run music files that I build in Notepad. And just doing that took me a very long time.

This is giving me inspiration to finish it, great work! 5/5

  • It's cool but the musical hard drives kinda kill it.

  • i love this song!!!

  • Sweet, the JunkyTown old computer band ;)

  • lol

  • Did you use the HDD as a vinyl drive?

  • as a speaker, the coil that moves the head has the same resistance as an audio speaker. Basically if you hook up an amplifer to the coil and slowly turn up the volume the signal will vibrate the head as if it were a speaker cone but it sounds more like a tweeter. Its this that gives it that tinny sound.

  • Die technische Leistung kann trotzdem nicht darüber hinwegtäuschen, dass das megamäßig hohl ist!

  • Awesome!

  • I always hear Junkytown instead of Funkytown. ^^

  • very few people will understand those inside jokes like Call Me I can Call you ATDT. Ahh good old Dial Up modems and carrier signals.

  • what next popcorn? heh actually I like this.

  • Great :DDD

  • lol

  • Great ._.

    Very Very awesome!!!

  • awesome :-)

  • This is nerdgasm.

You've made Hackaday. Expect more views :)

  • Towelie: Wait a minute!

    Towelie: That's it.

    Kyle: That's it?

Towelie: Yeah, that's the melody to "Funkytown".

Towelie: "Won't you take me down to 'Funkytown'".

Stan: No Towelie. The access code.

    Towelie: For what?

  • Friggin Awesome!

    Good job!
