  • - ..on a different note. the irish defence forces is not, and never has been, involved in the Irish civil war. the irish defence forces is NOT the old Irish army that fought against the IRA in the civil war. that was the old national army, of the old irish free state, which no longer exists. the irish defence forces was formed in 1923. ... simple as.

  • Just want to clarify for some seriously uneducated people here. the irish army did not copy the british way of marching, uniform, or saluting. our salute is different. our uniforms from the beginning were based on german, belgian/french (see old dress uniforms) and more continental styles of uniforms. our march may be similar but it is very different in ways, and the british did not pioneer the beret. by adopting it, just because they had it too, doesn't mean we copied them. (continued)

  • The Irish Republican Army is Irelands national armed forces.

These imposters are the Free State army who fought and crushed the all Ireland Republic.

  • @WestBritWatch The IDF was formed the old IRA - you are retarded

  • @WestBritWatch The IDF was formed from the old IRA

  • @CharlieBravoEcho88 The IDF was formed from the Free State army who fought for the British empire

  • @Cooleoh2211 If people dont know the difference between the IDF and the IRA,they shouldnt put up comments, coz they obviously dont know what they are talking about.

  • there is only one irish army the IRISH REPUBLICAN ARMY

  • Óglaigh na hEireann was formed from the original IRA.

  • wich is better? Irish or Mexican Army?

  • Up Da RA

  • they should be playing IRA march song not brit songs - the Republic of Ireland is free because of the IRA. up the ra

  • @trlax14m yes ireland is free because of the ira but not the ira of today

  • @DLS95 well said mate , the old IRA we're the best!

  • Why is the Irish Army playing a british Army March, "Imperial Echos"?? Haven't we Irish had enough of British Imperialism at home from 1183 to 1921 and beyond to disdain the playing of one of their Imperial Marches? Go figure! I am sure that there are more than enough legitimate Irish Marches to play instead of praising the British connection!

  • Gotta love the UK eh?

  • I think the march is entitled "To The Sound of the Guns"? I may be wrong but I do'nt think it is "Imperial Echos".

  • @SaorEire1916 - you forgot about the Irish in the north.

  • @SaorEire1916 Well, the Irish copy the British way of marching, saluting, our formal dress, our use of berets etc. So why not music? It's only a marching song, and a good one at that.

Also, British rule was from 1707-1921. There was no Britain before 1707 remember.

  • Go on ireland such a great country

  • it doesnt matter really if the irish arm is small

if they were invaded Britain and the US would be in there like a fuckin ferret anyway

  • is that kevin finnegan who made this lol youd know by that tattoo

  • yes,this is kevin finegan.who are you???

  • Brilliant tattoo mate!!

  • cheers for the comment on my tattoo.

  • Nice video, good to see the Irish Army. They look very professional.

  • just woundering is there anything I can do to get my security clearance off the civil servents before september, just waiting to get called up for the irish defence force & im afraid of missing my slot this year! its the f**kin civil servents thats taking there time!

  • They're not Panhards, They're called AML's. The Panhard was an APC and has been replaced by the Mowag Piranha (seen in clip). The AMLs were reconaissance vehicles and have also been replaced by another Mowag variant, the MRV & SRV (medium & short recce veh).

  • yeah

  • I broke my arm on those fuckin army trucks

  • ya maybe, but there grand for what we need.we aint a big country like britain so we dont need big tanks or anything like that.they do alrite for peacekeeping and stuff but obviously not when you fighting a war.

  • They were very useful for the brits when they were leaving all them countries.
