Kamala Laxman was one of the best if not the best Bharatnatyam dancer ever. She was there before the Travanvore sisters ( Lalitha, Padmini and Ragini) and Vyjayanthimala. She was the premier dancer infact her intricate steps were much more sharper than Padmini and Vyjayanthimala. Then there were also the Sai Subbulaksmi sisters who also shined in their dancing. Padmini, Vyjayanti and Ragini achieved a lot of fame as they took their acting and dancing to greater heights.
