I have a few questions. I have about 20 or so hyacinth in my pond and also Water lettuce. The hyacinth bloomed but only for one day, is it always this short? Also my Water hyacinth and lettuce are starting to turn yellow. How do I fix this?
hyacinth blooms in the day, at night it closes. it will bloom for only 3-4 days, thats what my hyacinth does. how long have you had them? its normal for them to yellow, if you just transfer them. get a few bunch, put them in water, add fertilizer. and watch them grow. then you replace the yellow/dead ones.
Mine bloomed for like 2 days, then slowly died off and the stem to the flowers just flopped over. I've had them for about 2 months, Started with five Hyacinth and five Lettuce, and they all multiplied to 40 Hyacinth, 40 Lettuce. They cleared up pea soup colored Water to crystal Clear. It's just when I got my Hyacinth they had a dark green color but now are a shade lighter.
