Nigiri-zushioriginated in Tokyo, so you are right, but other types of sushi (after all, sushi just refers to the vinegared rice) appear from all over Japan. Here in Osaka we have oshi-zushi (pressed sushi). Sushi originated as a way of preserving 'funa', which originated (I think) around Lake Biwa. Yet to try that scary food!

sushi is tokyo original, you should go Tokyo Tsukiji. if you are super rich, try Ginza.
