i learned on a 152. Later i flew a skyhwk172. I rolled it , spun it, broke the attitude indicator doing that, i even hammerhead stalled it. cessnas are hard to hurt.
i have. LOL. when you are in the hammerhead and right before you apply rudder you need to let go of the elevator. my friend he didnt do that and ended up doing a vertical snaproll. i was like CRAP!
Its almost like a summersault. Simplified, You gain airspeed by flying level, you then pull up 90 degrees untill you have pretty much reached near "zero"on the airspeed indicator. You "float" there, and you apply either left ot right rudder without hitting any left or right aileron. that will spin you from facing upwards, to facing 90 degrees to the ground. It makes it look like the plane is doing wither a stationary "cartwheel" or summersault.
@makemebad700 It's a stall turn. Go into the vertical at full power and when speed drops to around Vstall, apply left/right rudder and cut throttle and, she turns around her own axis so you can exit in the vertical (downwards).
What are you doing flying that low over houses and people? Trying to lose your license and scare everyone on the ground? Maybe crash into that antenna?
ill bet the dude that wrote this isnt even a pilot or has no tail wheel time... that wasnt that low... and rolling a 180 or even 150 172 isn;t that big of a deal.... I useed to go out and do slow rolls in a 150.... sometimes when you push upsidedown the doors would pop open... it was great
I owned and flew a 180 for awhile and loved the airplane and think it's cessna's best!! I got rid of it because my wife hated flying and I felt it was too expensive of a hobby withouth family support. The moral of this story is: if you want to fly, marry a pilot....or, take her up and if she doesn't insist on flying it, don't marry her...ha ha.
