I understand what she means by heat "heat" a human is alive so your finger will have a set amount of heat coming from it. Meaning that if the screen does come in contact with another object such as your inside of jeans pocket it won't take a random picture. Where as on the tl220 it may take a random picture since it was touch. Or samsung made so that zombies and vampires can't use the tl220

Very gimmicky camera. The front LCD is a nice addition, but if what I'm reading in reviews is true about the poor picture quality, then I wouldn't buy one.

@Rcokyjay battery life is very good the main difference is the st550 has a bigger screen, its the one i have the big screen is so clear and look amazing!

@eladbari heat. so you have to touch with your fingers for it to work, whereas the other camera you can touch with a pen what ever for it to work...

I'm still quite torn between which one to save up for, but the ST500 does seem the better out of the two, but I am a little scared of the touch screen at the back being a bit more complicated. but where I'm buying it from the 500 is only £10 more expensive so I guess that one is the better?

both st500 and st550 are exactly the same except one resonds to heat, and the other resonds to touch. I have the st500 and its absolutely brillant, samsung have done well with these babies

@MarriaMoss I'd go for ST500. They are both essentially the same camera but st500 has a slightly smaller screen. having said that, i won't pay £50 extra for 0.5 inch bigger screen, when most of the time the screen is going to wasted anyway...

Both cameras are identical apart from screen size and will give exactly the same results. However, the 550 is much more pleasant to work with, having not only a larger screen, but almost 3 times as many (screen) pixels.

the st550 responds to heat sort of like the iphones. its a lot nicer than trying to press your screen

i got mine today and ive been testing it... one word PERFECT even if you move when you take the photo, it makes it perfect... it has many other featurs like the family face recongition... things like that makes it a great cam... the zoom is INCREDIBLE super stable and picture perfect

@cutie4eva0248 i would REALLY recommend this camera as the picture quality is absolutely brilliant! and functions are amazing( front screen, smile detection, baby mode + loads more lol), but if you think that the sound cutting off will bother a lot then i wouldn't get it, (honestly it doesn't bother me much at all-kinda got used to it)

I have reviewed both of these cameras and i strongly recomend you canon sx 200 is because of much better lens and picture quality. Samsung st550 only got the look and few "entertaining" features.
