going for it is fan base....mostly young people who buy on emotion.

I don't know why companies are so stupid, by releasing directly after apple they make their products look like shitty copies. They don't make it unique enough either, it's the same thing as the ipad, if they want to make money they need to make a better device not a shitty copy. When will companies learn... copying just doesn't work any more.

@Mrxb0x Windows and mac are very different, smart phones are usually pretty unique although there's a lot of copying too.

Anyways copying doesn't work nearly as well as it used to. Simply because apple made it first, it's like everything else that looks like it will be labelled as a clone even if it's not. Companies need to learn to make something completely new and have the market all to themselves rather then compete with another company that has a head start.

People will not care so much if it appears to be a "copy" of a rivals. Cars are copies of cars, telephones, computers, fridges and VCR's....everything is a copy of an original. While American cars were the original, people buy more Japanese cars than American and same can be said for Samsung....Samsung is considered the closest thing to perfection compared to a Sony brand. Its evolution of preception. Now Sony is considered cheap.

@B0rnToRoll For the base line iPad with only wifi access you are going to pay $499. For the Galaxy Tab, dependant on what contracts you go with you get it for free. Like here in Taiwan, if you spend a certain amount per month, you get the phone free. (Special deal) BUT internationally if you just want to buy the phone/tablet itself will cost you over $600 $US. Keep in mind though, the Galaxy Tab is a phone and internet browser, while the iPad is only an internet viewer primarily.
