  • Maybe they are Faverolles, but definitely not Salmon. You can google it and compare to yours, then you can see the difference. Salmon colour means pinkish orange - does it look like pinkish orange to you???

  • I was told that Faverolles rhymes with Chevrolete. So, are we confused now?!

  • @ybmagpye I got them in the rarest of the rare assortment from Murray McMurray. And it doesn't bother me what people say. I am not a poultry shower; I am more interested in temperament and these girls are sooooo sweet! :-)

  • Yeesh, for a moment I was wondering where the Faverolles were. . . Sorry, but those girls were really poor quality.

  • I have two cochins at the moment and I am thinking of getting two faverolles.

  • Those are not very high quality salmon faverolles......

Did you get them from a hatchery?

    Otherwise, they are mixed breed.

My little girl is my favorite. LOVE HER TO DEATH.

  • no,

    they are purebreads,

the quality is just not the best

also almost all the hatcheries have purebread chickens cause they only put chickens withen their own kind together

  • Thanks for the info. I did not buy them for showing or bloodline breeding so their quality is irrelevant to me. Their temperament is perfect and that is all I care about. They care from a hatchery.

  • @spyroterra felt the above comment was harsh i agree the quality looks a little lacking but as they are very friendly and good layers would be interested to know which hatchery they came from

  • i love the salmon faverolles!!!!!!

    sadly i dont have one!!!

my friends have some and i like 2 play with them :D

they are my 2nd favorite breed after the Mille fluers

  • yummy

  • They are the sweetest Hens and such beautiful too! I plan on getting a few chicks in the next few weeks

  • They're Faverolles, pronounced Fave-relle-ss!!

  • THANK YOU! I had no idea how to pronounce it! I am sooooo from Indiana! :-)

  • As someone who is getting Salmon Faverolles this spring, I am so happy to hear how sweet you think they are!

  • They are among my favorites and I now have a couple crosses with them and they are wonderful, too! You will enjoy them, I do believe! Have fun.

  • i'm getting more chickens on february 2009. 5 black sex-link (pullets) 6 salmon faverolles (pullets) 6 golden comets (pullets) 5 brown leghorn (cockerels) 5 buff orpingtons (pullets) I picked 6 salmon faverolles and 6 golden comets because they're my favorite breeds! i like more the faverolles!

  • I love faverolles! I have my little salmon faverolle, Mufti, and she has the most adorable muttonchops to match the beard.

  • Aren't they just wonderful! My 2 girls are fantastic and one is a great layer. I am still waiting for Not Lemon Head to start laying, but in the mean time Lemon Head give a reliable egg about every 36 hours. And they love to be petted!

  • But I am right there with you! :-)

  • This never gets old.

    Im such a nerd.
