  • Seek I am probably going to piss u off but I agree that there should be more "conservative" leaning in the textbooks for history and social studies. Now my definition of conservative and my fellow republicans differs greatly. I am tired of have History being politicized by both sides why can't the kids be taught what happened and why it did or did not work without politics being involved. That is my definition of "Conservative" teaching. BTW I was and am a History major here in Oklahoma.

  • United States is going down because of these religious fucktard. Worst, they know it to but they think god will help them. They are going towards the same stoneage society that Islamist are right now. Bye bye science. Bye bye United States.

  • Orwellian...

  • another reason i hate texas

  • So very glad I'm British when I see this shit.

  • They have to "add balance." After all, it's well-known that reality itself has a liberal bias.

  • Are the people on this "board" elected to their positions, or are they assigned political hacks? Either way, it's up to the people of Texas to oust these irresponsible crooks and replace them with people who are sane.

  • Don't worry, you'll be out of there soon.

  • For some reason, the bit that bugs me the most is the part towards the end with Ms. Cargill requiring that sociology textbooks include a section emphasizing 'personal responsibility for life choices'. The topic of sociology tends to blame society for everything, Ms. Cargill said. The stupid /burns/. Sociology is the study of the behavior of /societies/, individual choices are outside its scope, and saying sociologists 'blame society for everything' is just ignorant as hell...

  • Welcome to amerika!

  • Academia has been skewed to the left.........Capitalism should be promoted............just thinking.

  • definitely some disturbing shit. I know my nieces and nephew aren't learning a lot of the things I learned when I went to school. Seems their science and history are often being censored and sanitized....

  • The Republican leadership is overrun by idiots, what do you expect?

I agree, this is utter bullshit, you have my sympathies miss. I live in California though, at least you HAVE schools. : 3

  • Being educated and adhere to facts, reason and logic = Liberal.. and that is BAAAD!

    LMAO

  • This has been building up for a few months. They can't claim the success of their policies, so they re-write the history of their policies. ._.

It IS horrific. We got your back.

  • what a depressing state of affairs.

  • I saw this story earlier today too. I can't say I was shocked, but I was definitely saddened. When these kids go off to college, they're basically going to have to unlearn a whole bunch of false history and learn all of the missing minority history that was conveniently left out. Or they simply won't do either because they'll be staunchly resistant to the truth. It seems like every conservative movement lately is leaning toward THEOCRACY OR DIE! It's somewhat scary.

  • Ugh, Texas

  • That is a sad story. Indoctrinating children is becoming government policy.

Turkey is heading the same way.

  • fav'd

  • dont smoke, listen to some nirvana and say "fuck em" the truth will get out one way or another you cant always hide it.

  • Any position where you have to edit the facts to suit your position is so disgustingly dishonest I'm surprised they can keep food down. And thats from out here, in the belly of it mate i do not envy you.

Thought you might like to see it! Happy to oblige!
