That gathering of green kanzashi (jade cabochons) above her silver kanzashi is the trademark Gion hairpin. This simply means that she belongs to the Hanamachi Gion :3

She should also observe not to move her head too much while talking. Gesture needs to be graceful, especially a Maiko or Geisha.

All maiko and geiko are required to learn and speak the Kyoto dialect :)

Not all, just the ones that are in kyoto! I think the Tokyo ones speak "standard" Japanese. What I mean is, the Japanese you would learn in a class in the U.S.

That's why I said maiko and geiko, which are specific to Kyoto, and not geisha and hangyoku. Have you met geisha in Tokyo? That must have been cool.

its not yukina. yukina is a maiko of miyagawacho and her maiko name is kikuyu. mameyuri is a maiko of gion kobu :-)
