Fascist Chiang Kai-shek of Chinese Nationalist Party made a huge fortress in Shanghai in 1936. A general of the Nazis cooperated with it overall. Because Nazi sold weapons to China in those days. Chiang Kai-shek dreamed that he could beat Japan if he could lure Japan Army into Shanghai fortress. Edwin Oldfather Reischauer who was stationed-in-Japan U.S. Ambassador wrote that kind of contents in a book.
I have a theory! When people from other cities heard that everyone was being killed in Nanking, at leas 450,000 people ran TOWARDS the city hoping to get killed as well. Unfortunately som 250,000 people did get what they came for. Does it make any sense?
If 300,000 people were killed in and around a walled city with a population of approx. 200,000 it is odd. But what is even more odd is when official census confirmed by international observers reports that the city -AFTER- the alleged massacre has a population of 250,000.
