  • Whats your Chito Ryu rank again? Oh that's right, you don't have one and yet you are some kind of expert. You must take cobra kai because you have no respect for other styles. We are drawn to believe you have a bad teacher if you were taught to bad mouth other styles like that. I'm Yoshukai and we believe in a mutual respect of other martial arts as well as other styles in karate. Tell sensei John Creese we said hi.

  • these guys need so much more hip movement...........where is it? theyre black belts!

  • Beautiful! Just beautiful! I haven't seen such tight, and synchronized movements in ages!!!

  • Very good kata, well done with timing and execution.

  • awesome sempai chris! didn't you get gold for this?

  • Chito ryu karate is crap

  • Some of these guys could be from Yoshukai and not Chito-ryu. They're closely related styles. I recognize the guy on the far left as my nunchaku instructor...I study under Sensei Blanck in LA, and we do this kata all the time.

  • umm.... i dont think that the guy on the left must travel alot or something haha... i recognize him as well, and i think he is from Canada (i think he is the fellow who posted this video) if im not mistaken, he is from BC

  • You mean what with your "crap" comment? What style are you?

  • I'm Shotokan

  • I studied shotokan for a spell before taking chito-ryu. I prefer the latter. For my two cents, the stances in Chito are far less painful to maintain and easier to transend from one stance to another in. Really though, the styles are very similar and share a lot of history. So! To say one is "crap" is only throwing dirt in your own eye.

  • In shotokan, the movement from one stance to another is meant to generate power, such as moving forward zenkutsu dachi tance. It is meant to increase power in the oi-zuki. It is more painful in a sense because the downward tension maintained in the legs builds up the energy for release thru the twisting hips and the actual blow. If an art abandons this and renames itself as "Chito Ryu" and such, it has become CRAP.

  • Come on now Christian...tell us how you really feel.

I have friends in Shotokan and we trade techniques all the time. Some things we each like more about the other. It's all good really.

  • I'm afraid most of the 'Shotokan' in the west is badly watered down. No offense but I would doubt the quality of your friends' kihon if they really think chito ryu is just as good as shotokan.

  • nicely done.

  • yeah...there are 5 stripes, and bfore u get a solid coloured belt, u have to pass a belt with a white stripe in it

  • nice job, did u hear abut the new belt system? by the way im already a blue belt

  • Congratulations on your blue belt!!! What new belt system would that be? Could you tell me how it works? Thanks :)

  • timing was off. rohai has a meaning.

  • Thanks for the comment. What is the meaning behind Rohai in your style?

  • coowl!!
