Who really buys a car for its exhaust? I test drove both the m5 and 6 series convertible last week, and at high rpms all you hear is the beautiful engine over the exhaust. Germans know exactly where there going with there bmw line and the turbos are state of the art.

@demonchild812 Thats the price they pay when they move to superchargers and turbochargers. Most times you don't get a great sound. The last time I heard a beautiful sound coming from a supercharged MB was with the E55 AMG. But Merc. saw that BMW has gone back to the turbochanged engines, and they want to do the same.

If you feel that BMW has failed with this new M5. Email them and tell them how you feel. We have to let them know if we are not satisfied so changes can be made. This M5 is no doubt a good car, but it's lost some of it's personality seen in earlier models like the E60 and E39.

@775marco the 6.2 v8 is still in the C63 AMG and the SLS...but even they are on their way out to make way for more fuel efficient cars. I agree these new engines don't have nearly the same sound appeal

@demonchild812 seriuously with tj=hose kind of car, fuel is important??? No. the consumption in a golf A3 1serie or all the engine whith less 2500cc is important cause they re is many of theme but for the big sport saloon that's just marketing

Even although I'm no BMW fan I'm crying for this car based on the fact that you can see from the temperature gauge that the engine is still cold yet you are revving it and in the process damaging the engine. The two fake exhausts is also funny... listen to the sound of a 63 AMG engine from Mercedes-Benz for 4 proper pipes and a proper V8 sound!

you need to go outside and rev it and re record the exhaust then. youre getting too many  reflections inside that parkade... makes it sound absolutely AWEFULL. to get the true sound. go outside in an open area. no buildings.
