This song gives me the goosebumps every time I hear it. A masterpiece from a great album- so powerful and touching. The world is bleaker without John here- a genius for all time.
@FansFiltration Lennon erred in living where weapons designed to kill other humans are widely viewed as sexy&desirable.Odds of his being shot in England would have been almost zero. The US?Not so far fetched.I imagine many American men have such fetishes about guns,it gives them hard-ons to handle one.In every other western nation in the world, the general view of handguns is they're an ant-social obscenity. Is it any wonder the US has by far the highest murder rate&gun-death rate in the West?Sick.
I miss John Lennon every day. He was my favourite Beatle, from the first Ed Sullivan appearance, until that terrible day in 1980. But WAIT! The physical John may be gone, but we will always have gifts: memories, his music, his truth and love. Thank you, John Lennon.
I thumbed up BritishArrow's comment about the evil one close to the 3 mark, but on the other hand, the intensity in this part of the song, lyrics, and the following images make sense with it and I wouldn't change it, filmaker. Powerful.
I didn't look at video yet. But my intrepretation of "Isolation", after listening to it a million times, is that John is saying he and Yoko were isolated because of their fame. A very personal song. But also can be extended to humankind's isolation.
I will listen again to rethink my position. If it is a holocaust picture, it might go better with that song, freeda people now.
John was deffinently making people think. Establishment and control, believe me John Lennon knew alot more then he said, He used his music to say it all. :-) Imagine is one of my fave's and WOW if that doesn't show you what he was about nothing will. Peace and Love. JOHN WE STILL LOVE YOU and your Yoko, still holding strong.
the song has many meanins. people behavior in general. how we are all living in fear.
more importantly he is singing about himself and yoko. They couldn't trust anyone. Their influence on the "revolution" crowd was so powerful that they had ruthless enemies. They feared for their lives.
That's what I love about Lennon's songs. You can interpret them in so many ways. He was the best lyricist I know about, and a very simple, yet great philosopher.
could be paul, people in general or the agencies that were watching him. They were so scared of john's influence that they had him killed. at least thats what i think.
I suppose it could be interpreted many ways , for me I'd think it's everyone else causing him and yoko pain, which is similar to "everybody trying to put us down".
I may be wrong, I may be right, but that's the way I see it.
29 years ago. I was watching Monday Night Football and Howard Cosell announced on the show that John Lennon had been shot. Still brings a chill when I think about it....
They had met on at least one occasion in the previous 5 years which I suppose it hit home to Howard. Elsewhere on youtube Cosell does a TV interview with Lennon recorded in 1974/75

John Lennon knew of the "Lie". That is why they killed him!
Don't believe the "Lie". His killer was a tool of the 1%.
Lear about the subject of "Gang Stalking" and "Cointelpro" and see how they apply.
See the film "The U.S. vs. John Lennon" for all the reasons for his death.
POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

On that verse Lennon is talking about the pain that human caused to other human being. And because Lennon lived in the 20th century I thought I should put there a picture of the 20th century's greatest pain. Not a picture from the crusaders, or french revolution. And also a picture that is important for hole Earth. Not just a territorial place. So...WW2 was my answer. Anyway, watch the video, try to see the massage and think of better times.
