Downey's Tony Stark was one of those perfect blends of actor and role, like James Garner as Bret Maverick, Clark Gable as Rhett Butler, Sean Connery as James Bond, Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, or Fess Parker as Davy Crockett. This kind of thing always results in a kind of cultural explosion at the time. I never loved Downey's earlier work because I think he's basically a cold actor rather than a warm one but his Tony Stark will remain the 21st century's 1st iconic movie performance.

I don't feel that he's embarrassed about his drug addiction, but rather that it was such a personal struggle and emotionally exhausting that he just tries to steer away from that for privacy. Nobody wants to cut themselves open in front of an audience for thousands to see. I think it's too revealing.

Okay, in my personal opinion this man is a miracle it surprises me that he's still alive. I mean think about the celebrities that have died from drug & alcohol abuse but Robert is still here God has His hand over his life. Actually Robert himself said that it seemed that there was life sustaining forces that seemed to be out there and implied that it kept him alive and went off to say he could've just snorted too much coke and been a goner but that it didn't happen.
