  • The Michael Jordan of ballet.

  • Such a confident dancer - he feared nothing. I miss him in the ballet world.

  • freakin baryshinkov!!!! he's too freakin amazing!! that guy jumps and turns like no other!!!

  • Baryshnikov>Gravity

  • straordinario ancor oggi... forza, grande tecnica e leggerezza, che bello!

  • You can't be a hater of Baryshnokov, you can only appreciate him, and how AWESOME!!!!!! HE IS!!!!

  • You can't be a hater of Baryshnokov, you can only appreciate him

  • I wonder how high he jumped......?

  • Блестяще, безупречно, совершенно !!!!!

  • I abdsolutely LOVE Barishnikov!!!!! I love this video of him as well! I would have him be my partner in a duet any day!!!!!

  • this is my idol , not of the fact he is famous , but as an example for my dancing !! i just want to say this guy , it looks like there is no gravity , it looks like he is really flying instead of jumping !! :p

  • 120 Likes absolutely no dislikes!! Baryshnikov you are the legend of ballet!

  • How is it even possible to be that good??!

Oh wait- It's because he's Baryshnikov.

  • No dancer ever looked better...

  • this guy blows me away

  • BRAVISSIMO !!!!!The best dancer ther world has ever seen .

Flawless technique , incredible elegance and a captivating personality~ it is always "breathtaking" to watch him.

  • I can't think of a male dancer who was more precise, or more exicting to watch, his line and his movement were impeccable...

  • He makes Angel Corella look a little wimpy...

  • just wow

  • wow he's so brilliant and effortless.

  • UNIQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • Amazing, the only I miss is really pointed feet . I think he has not beautiful feet and releves ,in the way that when he jump his figure is uncompleted, but I love him.

  • Absolute perfection in the way he executes his moves! He should be a textbook example of the perfect ballet dancer.

  • assolutamente perfetto!

  • Baryshnikov is simply awesome and inspiring. He combines both power and strength with beauty in his dance. Simply awesome!

  • God, he gets such amazing height. He's just fabulous to watch. I wish I were old enough to appreciate him while he was still dancing.

  • sos unico... el mejor q e visto bailar en mi vida!...

  • fantastic

  • I am sooooo used to watching Baryshnikov do 11 pirouettes, but then when i look at some other male dancer who is very talented and only does 3 or 4 pirouettes they seem very bad, he is soooo amazing no one will ever compare!!!

  • he looks more muscular than he appeared in turning point. still tho, beautiful solo!

  • He is the best dancer of the world!! i loveee him!!!!! hes great!!!!!!! the best don quixote is Baryshniikov!!!

  • The best male dancer ever,

    he got it all!

  • I don't disagree. He certainly came very close to being just that, but there isn't a "best". He certainly has the finest technique I've ever seen, and his style and passion were second to none. He's Yep, he had it all. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not detracting one bit away from him, and I did see him in performance many times.

  • Oh, and also, he broke the wall for technical expertise for all the rest. He raised the bar for every male dancer after him.

  • I kinda feel bad for em, lol. The poor bastards...

  • Yeah well, it's a high standard to follow, but that's how it is. I think most of them are doing quite well - we have a good number of excellent dancers now I think. Nobody is Misha, but I don't want them to be either.

  • Krasavetz! Umnitsa!

  • Holy. Crap.

  • I could do that...

    then go to Hospital :)

    luv it

Jock the hoofer at heart + Comedy

    WBYW

  • Hahahaha! Brilliant!

  • ELE É O MELHOR DE TODOS. INEGÁVEL.

  • No, he wasn't the best, Godunov was the best.

  • What'r you talking about? Wholly shit! Godunov is better than Misha? No way.

  • Yes, he was better. Better line, natural beauty, better technique, much, much more powerful, more masculine and animal sexy. He was a real heroic dancer.

But he chose to quit at 36 and died at 45, RIP, while Misha is still active, long live.

  • I think that when it comes to lines, technique etc, they were both masters. Really really extraordinary. Beauty, masculinity and animal sexiness wise, it's in the eyes of the beholder.

However I will say that I find Mischa's face to be more expressive.

  • Every principal if he is really principal is great, in his own way, irreplaceable, unforgettable, incomparable.

And it's just stupid way to judge who is the first or the best.

Just like to decide who's better - Rakhmaninov or Mozart.

  • Well said, magnumSuper! Each great artist is different and is to appreciated for their own talent.

  • except for Nilas Martins who is a principal only through nepotism - he would be in the corps de ballet in any other company (or perhaps sweeping the auditorium after the performance)

  • @WafffleHouse agree

  • Of course Baryshnikov isn´t the best, how could he be? There`ll never be THE best dancer. You could say that Baryshnikov`s dancing was a wonderful combination of strength and lightness,or he was just a media phenomenon with a cute butt.Just like you could say Bujones was engaging and passionate, or cheesy and a bad actor. Or that Godunov was a marvel of speed and precision,or that he danced like a power drill with only two settings:angry and angrier. All a just a matter of opinion.

  • exactly, but people doesn't understand all that and often become victims of shallow publicity and stupid stereotype.

  • @magnumSuper agree about derevianko.but had not a so great evidence in europe, not how he deserved.vetrov was very strong dancer, tsivin once saw live ,did not like him.

  • @magnumSuper poor micha l know he is short l know he is pale l know he is one overrated demicaracter ,but please let's wish him long life.

  • @pediatrapaola Of course, sure, long live. Who says otherwise?

  • @pediatrapaola

I LOVE SHORT and PALE...To me, that is perfection. So aside from being a beautiful dancer he is a beautiful male as well - sigh. As far as overrated demicaracter - yeah, whatever.

  • @creebeebug1 l was joking with a friend that is not a great fan of him .micha despite his not ideal phisique was one perfect classical dancer and with volodia vasiliev and yuri soloviev one of the top male dancer ever.when saw him live the first time in 75 did giselle in florence with our fracci than few days later did don q in venice with gelsey kirkland, people thought they were dreaming ,and me too.regards enrico

  • @pediatrapaola Ahhhh - thanks for the clarification...and please accept my apology. I tend to be so literal and need to lighten up ha ha ha. Thanks for the Bat Udval video. Take care!

  • @creebeebug1 as you saw bat's technique was very similar to micha's ,his don q var may be hardest with umbelivle turn sections and he never became a star ,life is often unfair.

  • the best. period.

  • MESMERIZING!
