An easier and cheaper way. Dig a hot just below the surface of the ground from all side of the roots, pack with charcoal briquettes, pack with old leaves, and light it. It will burn for as long as 24 hours and you will burn down below to surface about 12 inches. Pack with dirt and you are done.
