  • How many drugs did he take before this performance? :O

  • The bloody John Cooper Clarke is bloody shite but he bloody writes and bloody writes...

  • aaahhooooooooo!!

  • Ian curtis or the movie control?

  • The Smiths & Joy Division really do sum up that era.

  • The spacial die when the time is right, For them , at least.

  • Somewhat sad watching live performances some 30+ years after-the-fact knowing what we know. Stellar drumming and guitar work. Period.

  • that was a long time ago

  • how can he keep that drumming up

simple bass, the bassist is just chilling then the drumming starts and i can just imagine a troll face on the bassist

  • If you are not dancing naked in the street at the end of this song, you are crazy,

  • EPIC drumming begins at @0:23

  • whith ian it was joy division.without ian its new order.

  • Porra, dá para por o vídeo sem essa pro

paganda irritante e escrota com esse ''pipipi''???????????????????????????? Vou começar a regar o boicote ao youtube..

  • 254 people dont like dancing to the radio

  • The father of everything that has existed after. Thanks, Ian.

  • Ian Curtis is not dead.

  • Motherfucking GOD-TIER band.

  • The last 4 letters of the link are "LoVE".. And that's just how I'm feeling right now <333

  • Great tune!

What was the name of the guy rhyming at the beginning of the track?

  • @DrumMachine909 John Cooper Clarke :)

  • @caelala cheers mate you the man.

  • @DrumMachine909 Guess it was Ginsberg, but I am not sure.

  • It doesn't matter what the music is, when the performer bares heart and soul into every second its a rare honour to watch. And as music becomes more and more corporate it will get less often.

  • I fucking love Joy Division.

  • What's the name of the poet at the beginning?

  • ...

  • Cooooooooooooooooooool

  • After Sir Ians Death They Became New Order Who ever Thought They Could Make Eh Come Back

  • @babyimawantyou New order suck. ian curtis was the genius

  • @Trolljoke Yep but then again New Order wouldn't of been able to keep up with the hip crowd if they didn't sell out like everyone else in the 80's

  • @ef6854 How can you people say New Order sell out when they stuck with Factory Records who couldn't market their music to save the company's existence. Looking back, New Order would have made a lot more money with another record label, but they stuck until the very end because they wanted freedom of creation. Beside, how can anyone blame them for wanting a little bit more money? They all had a family to support, unlike Ian who just gave up. Romanticism is cool, but it doesn't pay the bills.

  • @Trolljoke New Order did not suck, they just had a different musical style. Ian did not compose the music, he just gave inputs, but the music composition was still done by Ian's band mates. Ian was tormented inside so he "directed" the music with his dark lyrics towards a somber musical style, but the rest of the band had the knack for music melody.

  • There's some great drumming on this.

  • How anyone can dislike this is beyond me...

  • Briliant and never forgoten .more poppular now than ever. Wish i was

  • JOY DIVISION --> TIMELESS!!!

  • This guy lived in the next street to me when he killed himself in the area where i grew up in Longsight Manchester. There was no genius mastermind plan in his death,he could have been so much more and a great symbol for the area.

  • Electric! This is what turned me on to Ian Curtis. Mesmerising x

  • My feelings towards this song can be summed up with the last four letters of the URL.

    - Charles Bukowski

  • @slangshotstudios thanks for posting an intelligent comment, its a rarity on youtube

  • will always miss u ian Curtis rip

  • bloody mesmerising

  • one of my all time fav songs

  • There will always be great artists who slip through the cracks of the industrial music machine that chews and spits out crap-o-la.

    Thank god for Joy Divison.

  • Fanbases being less intelligent than the artist(s) general.

  • First off, don't even think of dissing Compton like that. You don't have a clue to what you are referring to. Second, the Vietnamese war was a mistake, every one does make. Third, maybe you should ask the Germans how to prevent inbred diseases like you people can't. I like my cousin too, that does not mean I am going to breed with her. Fourth, maybe defeat the Germans on your own, for once. As if you could do it by yourselves. Lastly, I love the Royal Family KISSES YANK ASS, COLONIAL BRITS.FUCKU

  • The Drumming is epic the guitar sounds are epic Ians Voice And Dance Moves Are Epic And Last But Not Least Joy Division Is Epic

that is the true TRANSMISSION of this song.

  • @CriSkylander12 How can you close your eyes and enjoy Ian's dancing?

  • @Zttbm

XD Sorry, i wrote it wrong.

I had to write "imagine the ian's dancing."

i like so much joy division and when i hear this song the first thing that comes to my mind is his dancing

  • @BEZERKED. Like I said, I like some of what you guys do.Rebecca Black and Beiber(Canadian) aren't even Rock. "B-Man",hear the wisdom. • Funny, if it wasent for Britain we Americans would of suffer from Music Tragedy!

  • Amercian's are fucking hated the all world around, and you wonder why ?

  • @Kenjiro67 Americans are not hated around the world, just envied. F**k the world, we own it. You are just unhappy because you are not American and do us a favor, don't come to America and stay where the f**k you are at. As if we need you.

  • @JohnetteNapolitano2

    you sound like Redneck Randel

SCREW THE ALPHABET! ONLY LETTERS I NEED IS 'U', 'S' AND 'A'

  • whats up with the guy talking in the beginning? LOL

  • @baseballfuries08

It's bloody not just bloody great, it's the bloody best bloody poem ever bloody made, you bloody buffoon.

I'd bloody say it's bloody essential for bloody everybody.

  • @manniela folie, First off, the only thing you know of Rock is what we decided to let you know. The reason why your favorite bands are American is because we INVENTED THE F**KING THING .I bet your a Brits who think you invented Punk.Ever hear of the Stooges,Dolls and Ramones. Brit bands are OK,at best. As for a better culture of music, try coming up with your own music. As for something nicer to say, say Thank You for SAVING YOUR ASSES FROM YOUR Cousins, the Germans. Maybe we should let them.Takeit

  • @JohnetteNapolitano2 your a massive idiot... beetles invented rock... your country has sprouted pop shit the likes of rebecca black and justin b.

don't talk to the worlds center of music ENGLAND like that.

  • Once again, you possy, trendy Brits. If it was not for The Velvet Underground, there would be no English Alternative. I especially liked the "Jim Morrison" poetry at the open/close of the video. Once again, keep trying.

  • @JohnetteNapolitano2 What are you on about? Velvet Underground had a brilliant album, these guys had some good tunes (I prefer the V.U myself) but why are we possy (sic) trendy Brits? My favourite bands are American (The Doors, Jefferson, Big Brother & The Holding Company) but we have a better culture of music than the US. If you lot had tried something different since 1972 passed then i might have something nicer to say.

The poets John Cooper Clarke you ludite.

  • @JohnetteNapolitano2 does it really matter who's produced better music? just listen to the stuff you like, and i'm sure nearly every country has come out with a brilliant band. it doesn't matter seriously.

  • @javitali That's pretty sad, as referring to clown movements, the singer was epileptic, and had seizures on stage.

  • the BASS Peter Hook plays is a Rickenbacker, Bernard's guitar I don;t know, kind of looks like my Canvas guitar, but I don't think it is... And Ian's guitar is a Vox. I'M A HARDCORE JOY DIVISION FAN!!! These guys rule! Every time someone dislikes a Joy Division song, a cute, non-evil bunny shoots itself in the head. THINK OF THE POOR BUNNY!!!!!!!

  • @BassPr0digy Bernard's is a Shergold masquerader, Peter's is actually a Ric copy.

  • Simplemente JOY DIVISION!!

  • Thumbs up for Howard Marks!

  • What an awesome guitar, anyone know the make?

  • @AmuseMe543 Shergold

  • people went on their concerts to see epilaptic dance of ian

  • one the awsomeness bands in history of post punk rock

  • That's what not faking it looks like.

  • I wonder what Ja Rule thinks of this song?

  • The bloody guys form the bloody front row are not bloody keen on bloody dance to the bloody radio.

  • Best drum machine ever...

  • TIGHT!!!!!

  • perfecta!!!!!

  • rip ian curtis

  • To people who complain about the 'musicianship' of joy division, consider the phrase "less is more".

  • @SuparMonkey I totaly agree; I dislike 9 out of 10 dumb guitarists who try to impress by throwing out as many as possible notes in 10 secondes. Craftmanship is touch and play the right notes and tones at the right place and right moment.

  • blooddy comments and bloddy posts bloddu ghosts bloddy moats

  • I can't unstick my eyes from the screen

  • idk how anybody could hate joy division

  • badass fucking drummer

  • 240 people do not dance to the radio XD

  • No one has any appreciation for music these days, they just think that $#!T everyone calls Justin Beiber has talent! If Ian were alive, he would kill himself again because of the horrible crap they call music these days. I mean SERIOUSLY!!!!! REBECCA BLACK IS ONLY FAMOUS BECAUSE SHE SUCKS!!! Back in the good old days of JD, being famous meant you actually had TALENT! I'm going to go to the RB video to post a rant on how much she sucks, and post a ton of more pro- talented musicians elsewhere.

  • @BassPr0digy you know that every time that you visit those vids those moronic pop stars get paid, right?

  • @BassPr0digy

Utter nonsense I am afraid. There were plenty of novelty talentless artists back then to.

You are pining for an era of music that didn't exist, but please continue on your pointless and pish quest.

  • Nobody's dancing to the radio anymore.

  • @pootynubbin No-one hears Curtis sing no more... doesn't prevent its brilliance.

  • Stephen Morris is a fucking machine!

  • @RoccoValentino a drum machine kid

  • my mom:hoi, how are you son?

    me:ima gonna kill 240 people

    my mom:why?

    me:the disliked joy division

    my mom:oh no,bad boy

  • There is "LoVE" written in the end of the link of that song, so why about 240 jerks don't love it?

  • Think it may be John Cooper Clarke but not sure

  • @edgar8060 It is.

  • But who's the guy in the beginning?

  • @ankanboll john cooper clarke, guy's a legend

  • @deathCABforJEREMY Thanks a lot!

  • I love watching original video, with Ian dancing..Just totally lost in the music...this is the shit!

  • I found out about Joy Division three or four years after Ian Curtis' death... Transmission is still one of the songs I most connect with.

  • Why do great people die early?

  • 240 ppl cant dance to the radio

  • @ABsalondesmuelado This is absolutely fantastic, but Keith Moon is still my #1 drummer... Steve Morris is #1,5

  • somoeday i hope my band will be at their level...at least we try to make changes

  • @amnesiacradar Yea? Well good for you , Yuppie kid , but when this guys were around there was nothing that sounded like them , they ARE the ARCHETYPE. You on the contrary have been listening to 30+ years of bass lines inspired by Mr. Hooke here
