so ... in europe ... those engine was used 10 years ago for the 10yo -> 12yo and 12yo-14yo categories ... and no it's not fast at all ... 110km/h max in braking moments on the longest straight line when some ppl can reach 180 or 200... no :p

@TheDoK666 Some of these motors are very old. We were racing these in the seventies; a friend of mine Arthur raced a lot of these motors back then. He was clocked at 107 Mph/172 Kmh with his Yamaha KT100 with a pipe. That was the fast class. Some of these motors were mounted on lay down karts that went even faster. In this video we are doing about 110kmh/ 70 Mph with a four hole can down this short straightway @ 14000 Rpm. These motors can rev much higher @ 17000 Rpm with a pipe.

@sledgehammer131 usually these kart can range anywhere from 20mph to 90mph depending what kind of motor you have and class you run in. the class he is running in usually about 50mph to maybe 70mph depending on sprocket size and engine. hope i helped.

@ajuicea hi, my names logan and im 17 years old and have been recing karts since 13, anyways to answer your questions, no it does not come with a clutch, there are various brands but i personally used a horseman double disc centrifical clutch, you can get a KT100 engine from yamaha directly, or any kart sales order such as COMET kart sales

@fastkarter93 Shifter karts are very fast compared to a KT100 Yamaha. Sometimes we all practice together when I run my Rotax .Then you shifter guys are just in the way. Your faster down the straightway but slow in the turns. That's where we get you guys all the time.

Would a KT100 work good on a yard kart? I know there great racing engines, but I wanted to make my cart a little more exciting.

To much Hp & rev's for a yard kart. You would burn the clutch out very fast. Unless you have a big yard you can go at least 50 Mph in . Then why not..

Yeah can clutches are a pain. You have to constently lube them or they bind up and break.

@lyrisabff Just think that clutch is spinning 8500 RPM before it even kicks in. Then we take them up to 17000 RPM in a good race. You need to keep some oil on the bearing to keep them together at that speed.
