Other than that, go for Mac Pro but it's REALLY EXPENSIVE! I checked out how much everything will cost on it maxed out on the Apple Store and it's over $17,000!!!

Secondly, there is a reason why people have multiple drives for something other than just storage. Never heard of RAID. backups, archived backups, Photoshop scratch disk, swapfiles, etc?

The drives file up because I do a lot of high definition photography and video, it just needs tons of space, just like all my 3D modeling. Go with the 2.8 because unless you'll be doing some serious video editing you don't need it. Also there is not any difference in the actual processor. The 3.06 is just the 2.8 overclocked.

The macs come with an inbuilt airport to recieve wireless information; however you will have to buy an airport (either the express or the extreme) or time capsule (which provides the same ports as an airport extreme, but also includes a hard drive) to hook up your peripherals or internet connection to in order to use them wirelessly.

You don't NEED airport...just to clear that up...

Although if you want pretty much seamless activity; get Airport because it's Apple and uniform, but if you already have a Wireless router (WiFi) you will be able to connect to that out of the box.

I'm so worried right now. I got my 24 inch imac w/ nvidia graphics 9/04. Yesterday night, it became unusable cause the OS got messed up somehow and when I tried booting from the install CD, it wont even load to installation screen. I called apple care and they couldn't help me asking me to go to genius bar. Now I just read in the policy that there's no refund or return for custom configuration. Hopefully genius bar can figure something out cause I spent all my summer earning on this.

I switched from PC to an IMac and I loooove it. When I've had a issue, the Apple Care team is quick, responsive and very patient. I'm happy I made the switch. If Ur on the fence-don't just sit there, get a Mac.

Yeah, I switched to an iMac from a PC a few months ago, and I love my Mac! I also had problems with my first one too. It kept shutting off after I turned it on, but I took it to Apple, they backed up my files, gave me a new computer, and transferred all the files to it. They're definitely really helpful and know what they're doing.
