These are two very different cars that should not be compared. Yes, the lambo is a lot more expensive. What you get when you buy this car is the passion and inspiration behind it. The luxury and sporty feel will leave any driver infatuated. The mustang is just meant to provide the average driver with high amounts of power. Both companies do an excellent job of satisfying two entirely different types of consumers.

Ya it may have lost but the price of the GT500 is so much better than the Spyder. Plus the new 2013 GT500 has 650 horsepower with 600 lb ft of torque and a 3.7 0-60 (attainable in 1st) and can reach over 200 mph. MUSTANG ALL THE WAY

The new comaro and challenger are the best thing that ever happened to the mustang. Hence the 5.0, boss 302 and better GT500. Ford has put in alot of work on the mustang since 2010. (I know a person on the design team)

Granted they re-tuned the computer and tweaked fuel mapping and added larger exhaust and talked 15 more horses and about 10 more pound feet of torque. Mustangs are nice but not the best ever made. On the straight the mustang would have eventually found traction caught up and passed the lambo until the 160 MPH limiter kicks in. On the track the Lambo would have won it obviously. But for a base price of $48,000 you have to give it to the GT500 it pulls 1G on the skidpad with 540 horses. Its rumored to be bumped up to 650 horses for next years model. So dollar for dollar the mustang is the better deal hands down.

The BIGGEST flaw in the Mustang is the suspension from the factory. Even on the GT500's they are still capable of losing the back-end. If you're going to drop serious coin on a car, buy a GT, get a GRIGGS and put on your boost adders. For the same money as a GT500 you can build a GT into a better performing vehicle. The GT500 is just a badge with Ford OEM Racing parts added. Nothing you can't get out of a catalog and against a Lambo, there is no comparison. Lambo every time.
@PeteSwitch FAIL, the suspension in ANY rear wheel drive car will lose traction. Actually it's better to have that suspension than any other as the TIRES is what keeps you from losing the rear end and the rear suspension to help transfer. Nothing can overthrow a 4wd car though but if that stang had not only bigger tires, but drag radial, then that car would hook, that's why he spun when shifting

The Mustangs have always been very light and with the new aluminum block engines, they have been able to shave off a few hundred pounds! Don't even start, Mustangs aren't even close to bricks, and 200 is obtainable with the new 5.8 liter supercharged V8 with 650hp! JERK!

The new comaro and challenger are the best thing that ever happened to the mustang. Hence the 5.0, boss 302 and better GT500. Ford has put in alot of work on the mustang since 2010. (I know a person on the design team)

@jt2386 I think before "forced" would be a little strong word to use. But even in 2010 when the new Camaro and Challenger came out Ford still had the 4.6. Granted they re-tuned the computer and tweaked fuel mapping and added larger exhaust and talked 15 more horses and about 10 more pound feet of torque. My dad (no im not 12 cause i said my dad im 22) knows someone on the design team for the mustang and he was telling me as soon as they heard rumor of the camaro and challenger

@jt2386 They pushed for development of the 5.0 and tested it and approved it for production faster than any other engine they have built. Ford has always had 302 based engines but basically they took an existing block that they use in the their circuit series and built it from the block up

@zacheryds The Ford GT is actually in the works. For a while they where talking about using the 5.0 supercharged but that got scrapped and if its approved for production it will use the new 5.8. If it does get approved for production you probably wont see it for another couple years. They are afraid the boss, leguna seca and Shelby will take potential sales away from it. Also their is rumor of another F150 lightning but i doubt that happens

Mustangs are nice but not the best ever made. On the straight the mustang would have eventually found traction caught up and passed the lambo until the 160 MPH limiter kicks in. On the track the Lambo would have won it obviously. But for a base price of $48,000 you have to give it to the GT500 it pulls 1G on the skidpad with 540 horses. Its rumored to be bumped up to 650 horses for next years model. So dollar for dollar the mustang is the better deal hands down.

I wonder if this is why SVT loaded an IRS to go along with those bigger tires you're going on about in the back? GT500=a supercharged whale. Buying a stock GT and slapping $14k in suspension upgrades along with another $8k or so in boost and engine upgrades. Will give a much much better car. Both in straight lines and twisties.

Stangredemption; do you always talk before you think? The lack of an IRS was the biggest criticism Ford was blasted with in all S197's. Ford stated that to add an IRS to all GT's and above would tack on an additional $5,000 to the sticker price. I wonder if this is why Ford plans to put in factory IRS beginning in the 2014 model year? Sure the back end gets squirmy on a rear wheel drive. The BIGGEST flaw in the Mustang is the suspension from the factory. Even on the GT500's they are still capable of losing the back-end. If you're going to drop serious coin on a car, buy a GT, get a GRIGGS and put on your boost adders. For the same money as a GT500 you can build a GT into a better performing vehicle. The GT500 is just a badge with Ford OEM Racing parts added. Nothing you can't get out of a catalog and against a Lambo, there is no comparison. Lambo every time.

@PeteSwitch FAIL, the suspension in ANY rear wheel drive car will lose traction. Actually it's better to have that suspension than any other as the TIRES is what keeps you from losing the rear end and the rear suspension to help transfer. Nothing can overthrow a 4wd car though but if that stang had not only bigger tires, but drag radial, then that car would hook, that's why he spun when shifting

@CleanAndWhite I know Jamal Hameedi, Hau Thai Tang, and John Colletti, I have family that work's for Ford up in the Dearborn Plant as SVT Nitch Line Builders and at the Corporate Office most all of them minus a couple R firm belivers in the product & would never drive a German or Jap product unless ford had something to do with it like Mazda. As for the 444hp out of a small block V8, I don't think U understant how significant that is for an engin that has 125ci less than the mighty ZO6's 427.

Yes the mustang is out classed I agree but affordable cars such as the Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger & Chevy Camaro / ZO6 are the blue collar worker’s sports cars. They R just as fun to drive & get U just as much pussy as Lamborghini, Bugatti, Ferrari, or Porsche will any day.
