I think the BBC should use this when they release the WAR GAMES on dvd, it would be better than the original filmed ending. Shouldn't be too difficult to incorporate this into the final episode.

I take that as a compliment actually, it's meant to look simple. Whereas it wasn't. The 2nd frame was a new composite (and just look how many other people have nabbed it for their attempts!), and there's a bit of morph in there as well. The flash was to get around the change of hair.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but the entire War Games exists on film doesn't it? I saw it on PBS sometime in the late-80s even though it put me to sleep, so I'm fairly sure I'm right. And my remark isn't intended as a disrespect to Troughton, nowadays I'd love to see all his stories again since he's the 2nd best Doc imo after T. Baker.

Aparently there was a fan production in 1995 with an alt Doctor set after Troughton and at the end they actually got Jon Pertwee to film a regeneration scene to segue into the opening of Spearhead from Space.

Would be cool if they used this in the war games, theres talk of a season 2 B, a season that was never made but there are hints toward it in the Five Doctors and The Two Doctors, this could had happened say at the end of the that unfilmed series.
