I love it when the musician leave nothing left of themselves after the performance, I mean they pour it all out and that's what i saw in this video. Great moments include adjusting some knob on the guitar effects pedals and the breakdown, sudden quiet dynamic after the slide solo (oh yeah and of course the pounding of the beat on the Dobro during the solo) GREAT STUFF!!

Yeah, Mercy is toned down, but I kind of expected that from Lanois, usually that's how his stuff goes. That doesn't make it a bad album, though. But I still prefer "I Trust You To Kill Me" (the album).

Have you ever seen the documentary on Rocco, it's really good. Nobody can play a dobro like this guy, and sing, oh my God, this guy can sing. I really wish he would have put this song on the album. It's a great album, regardless, I think he is very original.

This isn't that original...there are quite a few players who can play slide...one of the best being Bonnie Raitt.

Even better than her was the master of the Slide, Son House. I'm not saying he's bad, but I'd give him a mediocre at best..you can add all kinds of distortion to this but it's still slide blues guitar

I didn't leave a comment to start an argument about great slide guitar players, Besides Bonnie and Son there are probably hundreds of people who play just as well if not better than Rocco, I just really like his music, and his music isn't like any of the other "new" music that is out right now. Saw this guy at the Coors Ampitheater he opened up with Ben Folds for John Mayer and I had never heard of him.

Must say his voice range was easily the most impressive I've seen since the late great Jeff Buckley.

I have the album. And I know the band is still with Ironworks. It says it on their Myspace page. Kiefer Sutherland talks about them and the label frequently on talk shows. They never left that label.

I think the issue here might be that, sometimes smaller labels, independent ones like IronWorks, will partner with larger labels, like Warner Brothers, to help with the marketing/touring costs for a band.  It's kind of like a co-ownership thing. IronWorks brought RDB into the world, but they're getting a little bit bigger now and going on larger sponsored tours like the VH1 YOK this past spring and now they're out with Keane - they might need that bigger label to put themselves out there more.

I saw them perform live about two months ago. It's tremendously hard to believe that four guys with those instruments could make so much noise. If ever you have a chance to see The Burden, don't pass it up. One of the best and most inspiring live shows I've ever seen.
