A Sham program written by corrupt politicians in the pockets of the insurance companies. This union is reprehensible for selling us out to their corporate masters. Mandatory insurance means mandatory profits it does NOT mean health care. Wake up people.before you too are DENIED!
The US spends over twice the amount per person on health care than any other country and most of our citizens now struggle financially with obtaining the care. Insurance cos. and pharmaceutical cos. are profiting heavily from the present system and they can afford media blitzes that have frozen us in place. "Harry and Louise" ads notwithstanding, we have to get over our fear of change and get out of the mess we are in now.
Yes! Finally someone is talking sense about healthcare. We have waited and waited for the Governor to take part in a serious discussion of affordable healthcare; finally there is something on the table. It may not be ideal, but it looks like the best chance we've seen for effective, affordable health coverage for California working families. I only hope Aah-nuld has the courage to move forward with this. The rest of us are more than ready. Time to step up, Gov!
If not this and not Senator Kuehl's, we need something that works, please keep working towrds a better health care for all of Cali, one that works no matter where you are here or from state to state, and one that doesn't make you wait for an OK to see a DR,or for a test that could save a life. Having to pick food and keeping your home over seeing a DR, sucks.I live this now, I pick keeping my home, I have seen my Pt's pick the same, and leave the hospital over a test/treatment.
Those folks pushing AB 840 might as well be pushing pie in the sky. Single-payer won't happen -- in California, or anywhere in the United States -- in one fell swoop. We have to figure out how to move in that direction, and this compromise sounds like a huge step forward. Stop making the perfect the enemy of the good. Let's get this done, Governor.
ABX is another Trojan Horse for insurance companies. They are trying to "rush" ABX to kill future efforts for single-payer reform which puts them out of business. (just follow the money behind every group that is pushing ABX and you will find insurance and drug industry dollars. THIS GROUP IS FUNDED BY AARP and their insurance business interests) You can bet that if ABX is passed that the insurance industry will do everything in their power to ensure we never get the real reform.
you could never control costs keeping private insurance at the table. This proposal expands private insurance and uses tax dollars to subsidize the beast that kills us in the end. NO to ABX. SINGLE-PAYER SB840 is the true reform.
This so called "compromise" by so called "Democrats" is simply an underhanded deal with the fascist governor and should be called the Arnold Insurance Enrichment Bill. Shame on SEIU for promoting such a lousy deal for the people of California.
What we need AND WANT is true single payer universal health care in SB840 authored by a true DEMOCRATIC Senator Sheila Kuehl.
The only plan that makes sense is to eliminate insurance companies and offer SINGLE PAYER UNIVERSAL HEALTH INSURANCE WHICH IS WHAT SB 840 DOES. The Governor and politicians are in the pockets of the insurance industry. PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR THIS COMPROMISE. Pledge Your Support For What Michael Moore Advocates In His Movie SICKO. COMPARE SB 840 TO WHAT THESE INSURANCE SPONSORED "GRASSROOT" GROUPS ADVOCATE AND THE ANSWER WILL BE CLEAR.... WE NEED SINGLE PAYER UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE.
I appreciate y'all for trying to get this info out.. but this plan is just too complex. We won't get real healthcare for everyone until the profit is taken out of the health industry. This is a public service.. we shouldn't have hospitals competing with each other and pharmaceuticals competing with each other. They should all be working together to MAKE SURE HEALTHIER.

It's time to stop thinking like Republicans and start thinking like human beings who actually care about each other.
