I want to take a distance learning mua course and qc seems to be everything I want but I have heard that their diploma is useless. Thoughts? Or do you know any similar programs? Please help!! @jazzypinkprincess12 if you get your GED then you'll be able to. that's what i did. and it really doesn't take that long to get your GED. i started classes and in a month i took the test

I enrolled myself earlier this week into a cosmetology school.. I wish I could've watched this before I made a decision though. The reason I chose that school is because I love art, painting, & creating! I figured hair and make-up is similar & would be a great outlet for artistic expression! But I think I 'd like make-up better vs. hair, but I'm not in for esthetics... so Im worried. Would I still be able to be a licenced make-up artist with hair education? They'll only briefly go over make-up.

@avashaneer you cant get a license from the state unless u go to school for esthetics or cosmetology. I went to Cos school and got my license, however they didn't teach much about make up, but esthetics does since its mainly about the study of skin. School is only about a year long for most it's worth looking into if you're really interested :) I know it can be expensive, but they're is the option of an apprenticeship.

YES, YES, YES! MORE "HOW TO GET STARTED"! I'm from Indiana, there isn't many make-up schools around here and I need to know which ones you think are best? Maybe where you studied or others that you consider to be great artists studied? Would you suggest JUST a makeup artistry school or cosmetology as well? Not to be a downer but I've read a lot of these comments and lots of people say they want to be make up artists but i wonder how many will actually follow through with it...
@oogaboogabiggading1 There are no reason to kill dreams, and I think you didnt mean it to do that, but a lot of these posters are young women who look up to Kandy.
I personally went to cosmetology school for a full year before they shut it down and I did not have the transportation 2 the new 1. That experience lead me to style my own hair, do great makeup, give great facials, and cut my own hair like a 150.00 haircut.
Point is: no matter where you take it, it will be with you always! Good luck

I went to Cos school and got my license, however they didn't teach much about make up, but esthetics does since its mainly about the study of skin. School is only about a year long for most it's worth looking into if you're really interested :) I know it can be expensive, but they're is the option of an apprenticeship.

I really want to be a make-up artist, I LOVE creating looks and seeing the transformation. However, my parents dont support it at all. I am actually going to be starting my channel this weekend(first time in months I have a free day), maybe then they will relize I have a passion for it. My boyfriend supports me in this career path, but not my parents :( Do you have any tips on helping my parents relize that I love makeup and hair.

YES, YES, YES! MORE "HOW TO GET STARTED"! I'm from Indiana, there isn't many make-up schools around here and I need to know which ones you think are best? Maybe where you studied or others that you consider to be great artists studied? Would you suggest JUST a makeup artistry school or cosmetology as well? I've loved makeup for YEARS and my girlfriends always come to me when they have an event, its time to put this into action! "If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life" ;)

@oogaboogabiggading1 There are no reason to kill dreams, and I think you didnt mean it to do that, but a lot of these posters are young women who look up to Kandy.
I personally went to cosmetology school for a full year before they shut it down and I did not have the transportation 2 the new 1. That experience lead me to style my own hair, do great makeup, give great facials, and cut my own hair like a 150.00 haircut.
Point is: no matter where you take it, it will be with you always! Good luck

This video is so inspiring too me because I've always wanted to do make up I'm only 15 so I'm still learning and realizing what I want to be. Everyone is always saying don't persue something that isn't stable but I believe life is about taking risks and I would hate too regret not trying to become a beautician just because I didn't believe in myself or the fact that I thought I couldn't achieve it. My best friend Marlee wants to be a makeup artist. She is really good at it but needs a foot in the door somewhere. She works at ulta and she has done prom, weddings, and theatre makeup. She is an amazing artist. Do you have any other suggestions for her besides modeling agencies? Where is a good place to intern?
