The execs at MCA forced Bobby to be a background singer in the group and that didn't fit his personality and so he was forced out Mike said he told Bobby in time you and Ralph will be sharing leads but MCA kept keeping Bobby in the back and so everything fell apart as Bobby wasn't happy being no background singer.
