Tip- Feather your edges in PS whenever you combine them. Also, don't forget to expose under the fence (Right of frame) correctly!
This photo has great potential. Assuming you have the RAW still you can re-edit as many times as you like.
Have you read "The Smart Object Pipeline" By Ted Dillard?
It details a constructive RAW editing process rather than standard PS Destructive.

Check out a tutorial on Adjustment Brushes in Camera Raw... they would have solved your problem in one fell swoop. :)
