it's a plain and simple fact, well over 90% of abortions are for birth control, so if people want to play fast and loose with sex, only they should have to pay ... the rest of us (who actually believe that getting pregnant is a serious matter) don't owe you squat, get over yourselves

LOL thats the stupidest thing I've read this week.
The reason the rule was called the "gag rule" is because it forced anyone overseas collecting any aide from the US to not even MENTION the availability of abortion services, *regardless* of who paid for them.
Also, the reason it never applied to federal aide to orgs within US borders is its a blatant violation of the 1st amendment.. but Bush pretended nobody has rights outside the USA - the same bullshit that led to torture in Guantanamo!

I don't think being legally raped by your husband is considered playing fast and loose. That is what many women around the world face. the US may be different. But all over the world women are dieing, leaving their other children orphaned because they don't have the option of abstinence, birth control, safe abortion, or safe delivery. If you believe abortion is wrong, then you should be like the clinics that were shut down: advocates for birth control access as well as abstinence when possible.
