This is one of the most incredible and comprehensibly difficult Rube Goldberg projects that anyone can possibly do. In any case, one can say what a spectacular job you guys have done to put this together. Great Job!
not to be rude but that was oringal i have seen that trick so many times im going to go crazy!find some thing no one has seen or u will lose ur beissness...........ps that was very dumb
You say this is original but you've seen it "so many times"? You also said he's going to lose his business even though he said he did this because it's a science project (which means this is his only Rube Goldberg machine). Maybe your the dumb one.
Our Rube Goldberg machine basically has two parts connected between two cellphones. The cellphone on the first part calls the cellphone on the second part, triggering it, and therefore continuing the chain of events. Because cellphones work mostly anywhere in the world, theoretically, the two parts of our machine can be located in any two places in the world with cellphone reception and still work. That's where the name 'Around the World' comes from.
ah, you guyz used the software iMovie, must be a apple fan then. gj on getting it featured...isn't it summer tho? when did you guyz did this? btw you guyz can take the incredible w/e machine part out, is like saying your the best you know...
ya that was aweosme, the remote was to stop the match lighter from coninuing to rotate (btw, it mightve been a bit easier if you'd used strike anywhere matches)
I agree that strike anywhere matches would have been easier... I was think of using them, but it was surprisingly easy to get the normal ones to work...
ilub11alot is correct, the remote is to stop the match lighter from hitting the striker again and sending the flaming match flying (which has happened) -In the long run, I should have used a button instead of the remoter, it creates less suspicion ;)
I can also understand how some people believe that the spirit of not having anything electric in these devices. I can completely understand.
Heyy, you guys are amazing! But I was wondering how and what you made your pulley system out of?

Why not take all that time, trouble and expense to create a life for yourselves?
hornetobiker 3 years ago
If this had not been assigned to my science class as a project, I would have probably not done it...
That being said, we had a great time building it and seeing the end result is extremely satisfying...

Surprising and impressively good answer. Carry on.

You could just take a match and strike it by hand.... then you wouldn't need any of the other stuff. And it would be quicker too!

do you even know the purpose of a Rub Goldberg machine is? it's a series of simple machines put together in order to perform simple tasks

Using so much electronics couldn't make a good Rube Goldberg Machine. :-(

How exactly does receiving a text message make a cell phone move?
yoshiman53 3 years ago
set it to vibrate?
cynikal89 3 years ago
the phone is loosely set on the tables edge...
when the phone call is received, the phone vibrates and falls...

what's that remote in the end? for me, more autonomous machines without so many electric devices, are nicer. but the phone call was a cool idea.
