  • coming from someone who pick a gun over another because it has more safety's i'll take that as a compliment if you use your brain you wouldn't need safety's the best safety u have is your brain keep yo finger off the trigger dumb ass bitch

  • @cuzz0187 Pick a gun? I own both. Glock isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread, there are many other effective pistols. What is it with people having a simple disagreement and then automatically feeling compelled to launch personal insults? Fine, my video sucks. You win. So now you can freely move on to trash then next person you disagree with.

  • your video is so off. xd is caca no reliability and the erogonomics on the glock wins hands down low bore axes on xd. Stop using the slide release the biggest slide release is the slide... idiot

  • @cuzz0187 Well said. I'll take from your insults and myopic rant that your highest level of attained education is 4th grade? Well, you did spell some polysyllable words correctly so maybe 5th grade.

  • what Glock package and xd package are they? you have allot of accessories

  • The ergos of the XD are much better. Plus I favor metal over plastic.

  • steel guide rod please

  • Glocks are only top heavy until you put a full mag in them then they feel fine. And glocks will not accidenlty discharge if you drop them because of the breach block and the safe action design. Glocks will only discharge if the trigger is pulled directly

  • @bigcard4221 I love Glock and they are safe but some new shooters might feel more comfortable owning a pistol with and extra level of safety like the XD.

  • I like the manual saftey on the new xd's. They are great for beginng shoters, My children specfically. I am a Glock owner. I enjoyed your video. On magazines I perfer polymer or stainless steel. Do you lose speed on the xd with the higher bore axix?

  • @sailwed1 The high bore axis has no effect on speed but does on muzzle flip. That new XDs single stack 45 looks sweet.

  • I apologize for not having the gear to do a video response.Having said that a Glock can be taken down and put back together without dry firing on both ends. Also(I admit I could be completely wrong)letting your slide fly during take down on a Glock could put extra strain on some of the parts. In my opinion the chamber indicator and all the other safety stuff on a XD could be great for a beginner or nervous type(not trying to bag).Treat all weapons as if they are loaded. And check before holstering

  • if you want a glock get a glock but it is going to feel like it wants to fall out of your hand all the time cause its top heavy and the XD is way worse in regards to balance.

  • any gun that is "top heavy" is not worth its weight even if its made of gold. both of these pistols are horrible.

  • @loyolaf What's your pistol of choice?

  • @the308capital For a standard 9mm try the CZ 75 B or a CZ 75B SA these guns have perfect balance and holds better than a 1911. For something small in 9mm the Springfield EMP you will fall in love with. Even though these guns are a bit heavier than say a polymer the weight is balanced it makes a huge difference in handling the gun.

  • @loyolaf and you are an expert in what??? Go back to your video game and leave the adult talk to the adults.

  • Is the guide rod on a Glock .45 plastic as is on the 9mm?

  • @545Krinkify That,s what I thought at first but the back safety is so the gun won't accidentally shoot if it's dropped or if for some odd reason a child can't pull the trigger unless they have they're full hand grip. As far as the chamber indicator was so you could feel if there is a round loaded by touching it when it's on your holster just to make sure hope it helped.

  • No need to lock the slide back on Glock s to take it down ,first time I have seen that. Also the Glock gen 4 all steel guide rod. Even if Glocks track record with it polymer is better then XDs by far. Think I would stay with what is proven and tested plus I am military so I get that sweet Glock discount, gotta love it .

  • @545Krinkify I love both (obviously) but the XD just feels better in my hands. Oh, and the smoother trigger pull helps!

  • For glock takedown you could just dryfire, pull the slide back about half an inch while pulling down on the takedown control, and the slide will come right off.

  • why does everyone think a metal recoil spring guide rod is better if i could find one I'd buy a polymer one for a XD. you can shot a glock to the recoil spring guide rod melts out and it will fire like nothing happened hehe

  • For the most part we are talking ergonomics. The Glock is a proven rugged and reliable handgun. I see no reason why the XD will not have as long and as healthy of a reputation.

  • Single Action? No. When the slide goes to the rear it only half-cocks it. It's the reason why the Glock has a longer trigger pull. It must move the striker back the rest oof the way. When the slide goes back on the XD it fully cocks the striker. Pullling the trigger only releases the striker, it does not cock it at all. And I am not the only person who doesn't care for the grip angle of the Glock. Best for combat? Tell that to John Browning.

  • @rotorheadv8 you should try the isosceles stance with a Glock it has a better feel in that stance then the XD but then it should because that is how the Austrian military is trained to shot a pistol. I like the XD for the weaver stance more then the Glock but not so much in the isosceles. I've been experimenting with some off my friends pistols one has a Glock 21 and the other a XDM in 9mm I'm planing on getting both a Glock and XD or M sometime this year to keep my ATI FX45 mil some company

  • @rotohead: both xd and glock are striker fired not da or SA. Just saying...

I agree the xd has a better trigger, but to call it SA is just wrong.

  • I carry an XDm as a duty pistol. Under state law I cannot modify the weapon with anything that doesn't come from the factory. I have Trijicon sights on mine as they came installed. But a trigger job is a big no-no. There is also a lot of debate as to the legal ramifications of using a weapon with a modified trigger in a self defense situation. And would doing so void the warranty? I don't know but I would assume so until I found out otherwise. XDs: Lifetime warranty. Glock: I don't know.

  • No mention of the triggers? Glock has a long trigger pull for its DA only mechanism. The XD's SA trigger is much shorter and crisper than the Glock. In addition, many (like me) are not a fan of the grip angle of the Glock.

  • @rotorheadv8 I didn't go into depth on triggers because the pull can be modified by the end user. I stuck to items that you "must live with" on each pistol. Though I agree, my XD trigger pull is much better than my Glock.

  • @rotorheadv8, Glock pistols are single action only, not DAO, and the angle of Glocks grip was intentional. Because Glock pistols are designed for combat, it was designed for a combat stance. When you are target shooting and you are in a target stance, the grip will feel uncomfortable to some people (me included). However, when you are in a proper combat stance the grip will feel more comfortable to you and the pistol will be easier to operate. This is caused by the natural angle of your hand.

  • @rotorheadv8 I like both weapons, also include the other one that isnt on here, M&P as well as all the other poly guns. But, for the trigger, the reset on the Glock is much shorter then the XD. Meaning in theory you can shoot faster/accurately without jerking the trigger.

  • Like this vid keep them coming love the info

  • @Lilman792011 Thanks.

  • Good video. Both weapons have their own "charm" and I like them both. The good points about both weapons seriously outweigh the negatives (which I consider negligible). I intend to cop an XD40 subcompact next month to keep my Glock 19 company. ^_^

  • @NoCutCard612 Thanks for watching. Both are great pistols. How it feels in your hand will determine which one people like better because the differences are minor.

  • Nice vid! One thing I did notice is on the XDm you do not have to dry fire it to field strip it. I just flip the lever up and release the slide and just pull it off. I have a .40 so i'm just assuming it would be the same on your .45.
