My great great grandma is full Tesuque Pueblo, but since then we got mixed in with Mexican, Spanish, Navajo, Apache, German, Lakota, and who knows what else. lol. Would have been nice to learn more about my Pueblo side. good to see the language is still around.
Thanks from another teacher who is reading "Dancing Rainbows" in our HM anthology. I've embedded this video on my website to share with my students, and it really helps bring the book alive!
Thank you so much for sharing this! I'm doing the story, Dancing Rainbows, with my students and was looking for a video to support my English Language Learners. This really helps bring life to what the story is trying to convey about traditions.
i was always told by my grandparents when praying always start from the east, south, west, and then north. Or is it different from tribe to tribe? Just wondering.
I understand the pairing of colors with directions is different varies from pueblo to pueblo, so I think the order of the directions could be different too.
Thanks for posting this interesting video. I have since watched the entire documentary and found it informative and entertaining. I really recommend it to those interested in Native American issues and to those interested in dance as well.
