  • They were VERY good! Are they taking their act farther?

  • this is an awesomely fun song to listen to

  • that was amazing

  • Cool background.

  • Can anyone get me da drum beat?

  • i just did this scene like 2 weeks ago and were much better than this

  • @delorean275 uplode it on youtube

  • @iloverent101 no thanks, i admit i was cocky in posting my previous comment but i am not putting the one we did on the internet for the world to see, i may seem like a pussy by posting this but i honestly moved on and cant remember where i put the video

  • @delorean275 O thats kool :)

  • @delorean275 Cool story bro

  • I play salesman number 1 at age 13!!!!! super fun part!!!!!!!

  • Excellent!!! My school's doing this musical- we open next week! SO EXCITED!! These guys are very good!! :D

  • its official. this song is funny anywhere you see it. even in the movie this scene is just funny to watch.

    these guys are good

  • other than the charlie that talked too slow this is really good!

  • sick!

  • lol, I gotta play Charlie in highschool this year XD

  • me too!! XD

  • Good luck man. I played Charlie back in high school. The best character in the musical i think, and rock island is the best musical number in the show as well!!! "Whaddya Talk!!!" lol

  • i just was cast as charlie

    im almost terrified

    haha

  • i'm playing charlie soon. opening night is in like two weeks. this is the only song in the play we don't have down.

  • we just closed on this show this past weekend, and i was marian. but anyways, charlie couldn't really keep up in this one it seemed like :/

  • AMAZING.

  • wow the train movement looks amazingly realistic good job!

  • If this was a high school performance I am super impressed--you guys did GREAT!

  • charlie slowed it down a lot.

  • charlie couldn't keep up very well but otherwise it was great!

  • plus we did it faster, which makes it way harder.

  • yeah we did it too, and i played charlie cowell. and he kind of failed.

  • My school just finished this play. no offence, but that kinda sucked. :\

  • Voices too high, :/ i would lower it lol

  • im in this play i have to perform it this year stoked i guess

  • I remember hearing the end at school, I don't know why the whole song was'nt played, it's a good song

  • Good, but charlie is reallly really off:P

  • Haha this is awesome

  • I'm sure the drummer got really tired. My school did this show and we had the creaking of the rolling platform we were on to help us keep time. It would be nice if the others in the scene were as good as you guys, as well as me. I played Charlie. I knew everyone else's part before anyone was even assigned a part to sing.

  • my school is doing this production now........our finaal dress rehearsal was 2day an de show is 2moro..........am salesman 5...........and olin brit....

  • for teens they are pretty good at singing this song

  • Best version on youtube... Salesman 3 and 5 were very good, Salesman 1, 4 and Charlie Cowell need to learn to take better breaths.... but overall very good.

  • I WAS IN THIS! I Was Jessica (Duh!!!) I got My lollipop stolen if you watch the scene after this.

  • This is very good for a high school great job!

  • yeah well your mother is a whore.

  • my school is planing on doing this

  • This is actually a very good rendition!

  • This is really good!

  • wow great job for a high school. you must have a great director. it actually began to look like the train was moving.

  • too slow

  • They probably couldn't do it at the normal speed. It is very fast, anyway.

This could get stuck in my head for hours. x3

  • this tueday my class is doing that but with all boys. the boys at my school do it way better sorry.

  • That's because you're an idiot.

  • Ours at Maize High in Maize, KS in 98 was better then this!!

  • That was brilliant! Nice work.

  • Wow yall did really good!

We're doing this for our District Musical, and I'm in it :]

I can't wait to start rehersals, and I can't WAIT for the guys to learn this song!

  • wow! well done you are all very talented! excellent!

  • we are doing this play at our high school and this was really good, we spent all our good actors on the main characters you guys have a lot of talent

  • wow this is really good

  • They're all a bunch of cuties. They really don't pass off as begrudged middle aged men who work behind desks. Haha.

  • i did this in 5 th grade and then in 6th grade and i still havethesheet music 5 years later , ilove this play

  • Saw this in Stratford this past week. AMAZING!!

  • I saw that production last weekend. I thought the set was atrocious, and I didn't like the direction. But the music was solid, and Jonathan Goad was awesome, as always.

  • ATROCIOUS??? how????? and how did u not like the direction???

  • It was all the same color! I don't mean the same general look and feel, I mean the exact same hue, with no variation, shading, or detailing. It looked like a LEGO set, pardon the pun.

And I felt the direction pushed everything in the direction of shrill ambivalence: I had a hard time believing in any of the characters, because there was no development, especially with Marian. Internal conflict -- for which Marian has a ton of potential -- was replaced with something close to caricature.

  • damn i wish we were this good

    p.s i was charlie :_)

  • this nukber is one of my favs and u guys did it soo good..jelous.

Im in Music Man as "Mayor Shinn" my cast isnt nearly as good as this for Rock Island scene!

    BRAVO!

  • i mean it sounded less modern

  • i was withrop in the jacksonville symphony's music man and we had a better melody

  • I am in the show as Traveling Salesman. It is a high school/ Middle school show. This is great i don't know if ours will be as good

  • This is so fantastic! Was this done by a performing arts high school because these kids are all so talented! :)

  • Just saw the Music Man on TV. What a classic. These high school kids were great. They never missed a beat and I even understood a few more words in the song. Great!!!! Just great boys!!!

  • Good job guys! Great enunciation, I have seen this scene done many times by professionals that have not enunciated as well as you all! Bravo.

  • These guys were amazing! I'm anxious to watch more!

  • wow, you guys are really good. great rhythm!

  • Gosh-everyone does the music man in the summer I'm playing #4 in Eau Claire this summer, I have a friend in the chorus in Mankato also.

  • You guys were awesome! Takes me back to when my alma matter did this and my brother was in this exact scene --- great performance guys!

  • i like it when salemen #1 says madelion picks

  • Isn't it Mandolin?

  • My grade is doing a different version, the original one. This one seems a lot more complicated and more difficult to remember, but it's much better than the original. Good job :)

  • what do you mean by the original one? This is how it's written in the Broadway script... how it was performed by the original OBC (lyrics).

    Just curious.

Fantastic job though, takes me back to when my high school did it my freshman year.

  • good job!

  • my school is doing this. i'm salesman #5

  • me too! i am salesman #5

  • I'm Harold. I have to be on the train, but I don't do anything in the song! Gosh, I'm so happy. We're doing it and we're all 10-12 years old, so EVERYBODY is going to mess up. :S

  • I am sry but you guys are too slow pick it up

  • My high school is performing this in two weeks. I got Mrs. Paroo. Im uber excited!

    Ah fiddlesticks!

  • Last year I was in this. Its a fun show

  • My high school just started production of this play last week, I'm in this scene, Newspaper man #2 =] Then later I play the role of Oliver Hix. We're having fun "shipoopieing" each other.

  • My school's doing the Music Man and the Traveling Salesman are really good Big Brss Bass lol

  • the drum threw me off; interesting interpretation. it does seem very "rehearsed", but I enjoyed it anyway.

  • You are complaining cos a play seems rehearsed?

  • Complaining, no. Just commenting that it didn't seem natural. It felt like the reciting of memorized lines. No big deal, I didn't do any better when I was in the Music Man in HS.

  • im in this scene

  • Which one are you?

  • Woot! Im a salesman in this scene for our Middle School play. It's good.

  • lol, my middle school is doing this play. It's awsome!

but it seems very rehearsed. they needed to loosen up.

    but good job!

  • our middle school is doing this play (and no it is not music man jr its the real thing) and i got the lead! I highly doubt we will do as good as this on the opening scene

  • we're doing the music man jr.

today, our drama teacher made all the boys who got a callback try out for charlie cowell

i tried out for winthrop, marcellus, and the quartet

  • Excellent performance guy's.

  • This is the very first rap "Song" ever writen. It is from 1957.

If this is'nt rap, then what is? It doent mention "Bitches and Hoes" or Cop Killin ,or the word "Niggah" , but technicly , this is the first rap song. I'm not saying that this is part of HIP HOP culture, I'm saying as a "Form" of music, using words as rythem and beat and ryhme, this is rap... and it had to start somewhere.

Too bad it wound up RUINING black music forever. MTV SUX!

  • Lol This is so good. YOUR SETS ARE INCREDIBLE!

  • I am the governers daughter in my schools rendition! lol she is so wierd!

  • hahaha i'm all the non speaking lol :S

    you can bicker bicker bicker

you can talk you can talk

you can talk talk talk talk

    bicker bicker bicker!

you can talk all you wanna

but it's diff'rent than it was!"

"BUT HE DOESN"T KNOW THE TERRITORY!!!"

  • my school just performed this play last night! and we will again tonight and tomorrow afternoon. my friend plays the guy who goes Whaddya talk, only my friend is funnier, he does it with a higher pitched voice(on purpose). i play the flute part in for this play!! our orchestra isn't as big...we only have like one of every instrument

  • i was the what do ya talk person lol

  • lol cool!

  • good job!!

  • we are doing this musical, in fact we just did it last night. I am the one at the end with the bangbeat, bellringin', bighaul etc. thing. Ours isn't half as good as this. wow, you guys did amazing.

  • we are actually doing this play at my school this year. I watched this because i was casted as the conductor of the train. I am a fairly large young man, and when I think of train conductors, I think of some portly man with a moustache, and a big booming voice like mine.

  • wow you guys are great!

    favs

    5 stars

    XD

  • im a school board member in the same play..lol

  • i hope we do this for our fall musical next year
