It was all the same color! I don't mean the same general look and feel, I mean the exact same hue, with no variation, shading, or detailing. It looked like a LEGO set, pardon the pun.

And I felt the direction pushed everything in the direction of shrill ambivalence: I had a hard time believing in any of the characters, because there was no development, especially with Marian. Internal conflict -- for which Marian has a ton of potential -- was replaced with something close to caricature.
